Ohio state opens as a favorite vs Oregon.

I'd say the game AFTER that one:
Oregon/Ohio State vs TX is the de facto National Championship.

The other side of the bracket doesn't impress me.

I recall we said the same thing about Joe Milton, that he couldn't make the reads in the offense fast enough. Now Nico can't either and we said he's young and he'll get better.

At some point, maybe it isn't the QBs.

Nico at least is a RS freshman that you hope develops and the game slows down for him. Milton was a 5th year senior that the staff wouldn't trust to throw more than a WR screen.

It was a tough assignment tonight and Nico had some bad throws. But he still looked elisive in the pocket at times and showed some instinct. The defense really put the offense in a hole and didn't do anything to help them with good field position.

We def are the worst team in this entire playoff. We are no where close to the level of Ohio state, Oregon, Georgia, Texas. That was so embarrassing to lose like that on such a large scale. We need to hit the portal hard to catch up. Hell Florida, South Carolina, ole Miss, lsu and a&m are out recruiting us and we are in the playoff.

It was @3 weeks ago when I was cursing Ryan Day and Chip Kelly for the dumbest game plan in Ohio State history. So I know how frustrating it is when the team you're rooting for is (seemingly) kneecapped by the coaching staff and/or doesn't bring its 'A' game in an important game. Comes with the territory, I suppose.

I'm old enough to remember watching Nebraska beat Tennessee & Peyton Manning in the Orange Bowl to win a share of the 1997 national championship. I also remember Tennessee winning it all the following season. Keep supporting your team no matter how maddening it is at times.

FWIW it’s just the dumb, whiny bitchy fans that act & think like that and they are in every fanbase. I mean you heard it from Herbie‘s mouth, the lunatic fringe that wants Day who is 67 and 10 since 2018 fired. I mean, let that sink in.

It's an unpopular opinion but I feel like that playbook that worked for Hooker and Co may require skills that most college players don't possess and Heupel knows it.

It's not exactly the same but something like tossing a pro playbook at high school kids. You can do that but they won't run it very well.

I don't think it's that much of a gap, but we definitely don't have the personnel at QB or WR to run that playbook at the moment.

Next year is going to be rough.

After the abysmal play calling this year I believe we need to re-think calling Heupel some kind of an offensive coaching savant.

That wasn't the point. Warranted or not he's known as an offensive oriented coach on a national level. If so, how do you ever let your OL be one, if not the weakest position groups? It's crazy.
