Yeah I don't know what this Free Shoe University guy is talking about. I don't want the coach fired. He's did a pretty good job. May not be a championship coach and that's OK right now too. It won't be OK forever though. People get their damn panties in a wad on this site too much..Beamer would be an upgrade if Heupel is unwilling to make changes.
After last night he has to do something different (fire coaches, open QB competition) to show that he understands that this kind of an embarrassment was and will always be unacceptable at TN. If this was the business world, a bunch of VPs would be sending out company emails this week, announcing their early retirement. And yes, I have seen this happen in real life when annual profit targets aren't met.Yeah I don't know what this Free Shoe University guy is talking about. I don't want the coach fired. when do people realizing 10 wins don’t matter, 10 wins and not winning championships get coaches fired. especially with $8million dollar qbs who throw for 150 yards and no tds.I'm at a loss.... honestly: I thought we looked Weird All Season. I avoided asking questions when we won, which was often, but something didn't seem right even when we won.
I'm glad for our Men for getting 10 wins this year but I feel rather hollow
It is a business now. NIL and paying players make it that. The Coach is more of a CEO. Heupel just got his last quarter results and didn't hit his marks. CEO's in the business world don't sit on their hands when that happens..After last night he has to do something different (fire coaches, open QB competition) to show that he understands that this kind of an embarrassment was unacceptable. If this was the business world, a bunch of VPs would be sending out company emails, announcing their early retirement.
this embarrassment level you speak of has been going on for 2 decades, seems like it is acceptableAfter last night he has to do something different (fire coaches, open QB competition) to show that he understands that this kind of an embarrassment was and will always be unacceptable at TN. Heupel: " We got to play better, we got to coach better.........at the end of the day, we got to continue to grow"
Same ole......Coach, at the end of the day, it's the end of the day. I want to know specifically how you are going to fix the horrible defense and pathetic offense we saw on the field tonight?
The paying fans deserved a lot better than what they got tonight from the coaches and team.
Lanning
Smart
Dillingham
Kiffin
Brent Key
Dabo
Freeman
Well read my post again..never said he needs to go just think he needs to change some and make some changes in the staff.Same question I’ve asked many people give me a list of five coaches who you think are better? I mean I’m assuming you know the lunatics from Ohio Ohio State who thinks their coach should win every game have wanted Day fired for several years and he’s 67 in 10 since 2018….
So what Coach is out there that you think will do better than Heupel ?
On one hand I get people that say this.
On the other, I agree with the ones that expect more from Heupel.
Personally, I just want us to be competitive and things moving towards excellence. Problem is I am seeing signs of regressing. What if Heupel goes 9-3 next year and misses the playoffs?
Are we just happy to be a middling SEC team??
Bama is raising hell about their 9-3 season. OSU wanted to fire Day for losing to Michigan.
The top teams do not accept mediocrity, and I don't think we should either.
People may say but UT isn't a top team, and I would say it's precisely that mindset (we are just happy to be good ) that keeps us from being great.
We have the fans, history, and the NIL $ to be a top team. In my opinion, that should be our expectations.
At the very least, some supporting coaching changes need to be made. My two cents.....
2 of those coaches won’t natties, one has taken a school with far less resources and made them relevant, one has won 11 games in a regular season and still has team in playoffs, one had multiple 10 win seasons at FAU and a conference championship. Dillingham conference champ, Lanning conference champ. Heupel couldn’t sustain Scott Frosts mojo. He did win a shipLOL…so now head over to their boards and read what there fans say when they lose games. I’m shocked you don’t see this coming.
Clemson has especially got tired if Dabo, ND fans wanted Freeman gone bad last year. Dillingham lost to 5-7 Cincinnati, must not have coached right, eh? Wasn’t aggressive, didn’t adjust, you know all the stupid, cliched, touch points you fans hit when your favorite team doesn’t win like you expected.
I assume you're aware Georgia lost 2 games right? Only scored 10 vs Ole Miss. You know the same Ole Miss who lost to 4-8 Kentucky and 7-5 Florida.
Your dopey ass counterparts on those message boards wanted this coaches fired….get it. When your favorite team loses, it’s the coach.
I can honestly believe how impetuous and childish sports fans have gotten. And stupid too…. That list of yours as soon as that coach loses, your face hut back where you are now…
Thanks for playing along
I could name 5 coaches that are better. No one is coming here and never losing a game. STFU Bobby. Whatever your point is I'm not following. Heupel deserves a roasting right now and he's going to get it..

at ucf, but didn’t maintain and now has coached the Vols to no better than 3rd in the conference. Dude is Butch Jones all over again.
Coaches change things like not winning in the road against a top 10 team, he hasn’t done that.
