Nope just giving it to you people for your ridiculous emotional overreaction.
So tell me, what do you want done to Mr. Spikes?
I could give a damn about UGA. They are one of my least favorite programs in the nation, let alone the SEC. If they were playing Al Qaeda, I'd be torn as to who I'd want to win. My reaction is not even slightly emotional. You're the guy going balls to the wall attempting to defend a guy that's on video poking his hands into a defenseless man's retina.
The last guy that was captured on camera doing something of that nature was suspended for about 1/3 of the season and forced to take anger management courses. He was probably a bigger impact player for his team than Spikes is for Florida. I think that penalty would be severe for this situation, but I think something a little stiffer is warranted. A two quarter penalty is very mild and indicates the offense was also not serious. With all Slive's recent talk of integrity, that just comes across as hypocritical.
For the 38,000th time, I'm not defending his actions. I agreed he should have been suspended for at least one game. I just cannot fathom the fact that you people want to burn Spikes at the stake when Ealey himself said he had not problem with him.
Bottom line- your overreation to this has nothing to do with wanting justice, but everything to do with hating Florida. If this was Eric Norwood v Michael Smith there wouldn't be a peep out of any of you.

I am not sure what the outrage is about now. Is it that he only got a half game suspension? Would a full game have been satisfactory? Does he have to be banned from the game to mollify you? Would it require that Meyer be fired and UF to forfeit all wins? Execution of one half of the UF fans at the game? Burn the school to the ground? Nuclear blast over Gainesville?
It seems no matter what the people actually involved say or do, you are not going to let this go. Going to ride it for all its worth, which according to the victim isn't much.

The funny thing is that you are now doing what you can't stand Tennessee fans doing . . . concocting some weird notion that everything relates to hate.
The bottom line is that he got caught on film trying to gouge a guys' eyes. I don't think he deserves more than a 1 or 2 game suspension, but it's a little comical to suspend him for half a game as if he missed a class or broke curfew or something.
He got the same suspension a guy would get for being 15 minutes past curfew. Does that really seem appropriate? If you're going to punish a guy for assault, it should be measured in games. If you think it's mild - one game. Severe - several games.
Never thought of that before. Maybe some on this board are just anti-beaver.Man. I look through this thread and just am amazed at all the jealousy and hatred. Clearly the VolNation just has a deep hatred for Oregon State, probably because of our long-standing rivalry.
