The *OFFICIAL* Brandon Spikes thread (merged)

I am glad to hear he is taking the high road and that you posted this. But MTB, the Vols faithful just don't want to hear this. They want to hate Spikes and UF, no, they NEED to hate us. You are killing their buzz over it.

Look at it this way... As football goes, they have so little and we have so much. Be generous. Let them have this tirade...

Not sure why you think this LG. The man tried to gouge another football players eyes out. Just because the man said, I forgive him doesn't absolve him of the act or Meyer of the very light punishment he doled out. Nothing to do about hating. It is what it is.

Condescenscion doesn't change the smell of your vinegar and water mixture, especially when the haughtiness is so misplaced.

Ealey is just trying to bring some class to the sport by not saying anything negative about another player... something that someone who gouges eyes wouldn't know anything about.

Bottom line, if a UT player had done the deed, the UF and bama trolls would be all over us. If i was Ealey, i would be filing assault charges on the thug.

Really, when it all boils down, its just typical thug UF players.

So what you're saying is Ealey decided to be a man and take the high road about the situation instead of trying to take revenge? Thanks for the update.

This statement is probably why Saint Richt announced today that Ealey is benched for this Saturday. He is a puss.

Mods, mark the comment by LG so that it can be posted every time one of our VN rookies defend him as NOT being a troll.

Odd that Spikes himself says there is no excuse for his behavior (he knows it was wrong) but our UF fans want to excuse it.

And you Florida boys harp on us for defending Kiffin...

Some of Ealey's qutoes:

“That didn’t really matter to me,” Ealey said. “That’s their decision. I think he shouldn’t have gotten suspended at all. We were just out there playing football.”

The SEC accepted Florida’s discipline of Spikes for his action after a play in Florida’s 41-17 victory. The incident has received national attention and much criticism.

Ealey said Spikes didn’t get to his eyes.

“I had my eyes closed,” Ealey said. “He really didn’t gouge my eyes. …I was just trying to get up as fast as I can.”

Ealey even posted an update on his Facebook page to let friends know that he was fine.

“I just said that my eyes were OK,” He said .”It was 20-20. He didn’t really get my hands close to my eyes.”

No, I think we have a reason to be vociferously proud. So haughtiness is in order.

It's very admirable that one of your players tried to stick his fingers into another man's orbits. Maybe next week you can bend someone's fingers backwards and crush another player's testicles just to show off your "haughtiness."

right. so if you shot at someone and missed you didn't commit a crime. makes sense to me.

Holy hell, you are ridiculous. You don't gain respect as a football player by crying that someone needs to be punished for hurting you. This reaction from Ealey doesn't surprise me at all.

If Ealey feels this way about the incident then why are all of you so incensed?

Oh and the gun shooting analogy- goofy.

Andre Gurode was advised to file assault charges against Haynesworth, but didn't. I guess that means stomping on someone's head is "just playing football."

You're a joke 2 bits. The harder you try to defend him, the deeper you dig the hole.

How many times do I have have to say I'm not defending him? I think he should have gotten a 1 game suspension, but you all go on and on and on about how horrific it was and how Spikes should be kicked off the team, arrested, sent to prison, and executed. If the "victim" doesn't have a big problem with it- why should you all continue to cry about it?

What's the percentage of rape that goes unreported? It's estimated to be pretty high if I recall correctly. I guess it's not a problem since no one is complaining.

And lawgator has defended him as if he'd been hired by Spikes.

So you are equating this to rape. You people are something else. Why don't you become a victim's advocate for eye poking victims?
