The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

Being out of the playoff picture is definitely bad for business. They've been so good for so long that nobody knows what the heck to do.

Just for the division. The Braves still hold slim Wild Card hopes.

Slim is an understatement. It's tough to watch them right now. You can tell that they want to win, but they know that their time has run out. With the small crowd tonight, it eerily resemble watching the Braves in about 1988.

Braves Aren't Out of It Yet. Still A Chance For The Wild Card.

It's not over yet, but 5.5 back with 12 to play and 4 teams to pass is nearly impossible to overcome. Even if the Braves finish with a flurry, no way that many teams will collapse down the stretch.

It was a HELL of a run though.........

The Last 14 Years.....

With a record of 1,431-931 (500 games over .500) the Braves were the majors only team to have a winning percentage better than .600.

Including the strike shortened season of 94, they had 65 more wins than the No. 2 team, the Yankees and 422 more wins than the Tigers who were last among nonexpansion teams.

At 3.53 Atlanta's ERA was 0.24 better than the Dodgers and allowed 619 fewer runs than any other nonexpansion team.

The Braves had 47 more shutouts than any other team (193-146 over the Dodgers).

The Braves outscored second place Houston 11,341-11,340.

Atlanta's 2,650 HR's were 78 more than the Cubs second place total.

Bobby Cox was Sporting News Manager of the Year seven times.

Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz combined for six Cy Young Awards.

Pendelton in 91 and Chipper Jones in 99 were N.L. MVP's.

Does this thread die once the Braves are officially out of the wildcard race? :boredom:

This thread died about three months ago. Here is to hoping the Braves get their ownership situation straightened out and find themselves another starting pitcher and a bullpen.

As a Braves fan, it sort of makes you sick to your stomach seeing another offensive barrage. If we could just go replay the month of June, the Wild Card wouldn't even be in question right now.
