Just got back from Chicago - saw the Cubs lose on Friday and Saturday to the Nationals. Sat in the stands Friday and bleachers on Saturday.

Cubs had their chances and Lee was a monster.

Wrigley can't be beat.

the cubs need to make two trades to make a run.

patterson, mitre, and dubois for lugo, crawford, and baez.

prospects(maybe rich hill or todd wellemeyer) for preston wilson.

lineup would be
lugo
crawford
lee
ramirez
walker
burnitz
wilson
barrett
pitcher

and baez would be the main setup man for dempster.

yesterdays loss was no surprise to me. for some reason, the cubs always suck against rookie pitchers. they can mow down clemens and halladay, but cant beat a pitcher fresh out of AAA. either way, go cubs and go big z today.

Cubs throttled the pirates today. Lets see what they do in the Reds series coming up!

cubs leading the reds late in the game. trade jason dubois for jody gerut last night. lots of momentum right now with 2 games left with the reds and then a big series with the cards.

I am hoping that Wood has a great start tonight. And Right now i don't know who is playing better, Lee or A-Ram? Can anyone name a better 1-2 combo this year? I was looking at the stats a man they are impressive. If you combine both of there stats there are no other two players in the WHOLE LEAUGE who compare. there is always a team that just explodes in the second half, I just hope its the cubs turn to have some good things happen for them.

well just go ahead and take it to the bank because the cubs are now the most dangerous team in MLB. I mean if they get in the playoffs this could be it. Prior, Wood, and Big Z pitching. Plus dont forget maddux will be in the bellpen. Also the cubs have a dynamite of a closer in Ryan dempster. oh yeah by the way, derek lee, is leading all tripple crown categories.

the cards and white sox are probably the hottest teams right now, but there are still alot of games left to be played.

u might have spoke too soon 2345. wood leaves after 3 innings from an injury. not sure if it was shoulder stiffness, cramps, getting hit in the shin or just pride. hopefully we can win the series tomorrow and avoid splitting the series with the reds.

I think this team is going to make me puke. I hate ol dust bad as the manager. Hendry really needs to go get some bullpen.

hendry wont go after bullpen. hes depending on williamson to come in and take the setup spot. imo, houston will do it again. same scenario as last year. they will make a trade, probably for dunn and will run away with the wild card like last year after landing beltran. the cubs will be sitting at home after making no big trades. a cincy newssource has already said that the reds would take a trade for dunn from the cubs if they would give up rich hill, sergio mitre, and corey patterson. hill would be a loss, but i dont care much for the other 2. it could be worth it.

there is no way I give up Rich hill for dunn. he is going to be the next mark prior. His curve ball is about as nasty as barry Zito.

I am offically sick to my stomach. Last night was the end of the cubs season in my view. I think they have very little chance to go to the playoffs now. The only hope they have is to pull off a big trade and do it soon because I don't think they can wait untill the trade deadline.

good game yesterday. battled tough and showed heart against morris. big hrs by burnitz, lee, and ramirez. a good chance to win today suppan vs. prior. hendry needs to make a trade because we still arent a consistent team. a player like pierre would be nice right now. maybe take a chance on schmidt since wood is looking less and less like he will make it through the year. if we can get dunn, id be happy as long as we didnt give up hill. ive heard that kearns and a high prospect might be what hendry is trying for right now. i dont really want kearns, but who knows? he might be the guy to add a spark to the lineup and provide some consistency. either way, we need a big game from walker today since hes had a bad series and we need 7-9 innings from prior.

Scott is looking good down in AAA ball. I think hendry will call him up for the bullpen soon. I've heard that harriston has been traded. At the end of the game yesterday it showed on tv baker walkin up to harriston and you hear over the t.v. you are playing in washington later this week. Harriston looked stuned. I was shocked when i saw it and there are alot of people who saw it. so what do you say they got if this is all true? I mean I know we didn't trade just harrisotn, wouldnt have got much. Well livan did snap on his coach earlier this week. COuld you imagine getting livan hernadez? maybe ryan church? I am not sure just have to wait and see.

my guess, would be some sort of 3 team trade. im not sure why would trade hairston right now unless they are getting a cf in return or if gerut/burnitz will be starting in cf. i wonder when the trade will be announced. very interesting indeed.

It could ver well just be an outfielder and then they will just move him to CF. but I mean it is very interesting to see what exactly is going to happen. If you are going to trade jerry, right now is the time to do it. He has never played better than he is right now. But trading for a CF is not what we needed to do but oh well. Hey do you feel that Matt Murton should be starting in Lf all the time? last time I checked he was 8-19 and that is pretty decent. I just hope they call up Willamson sooon so the can see if they are going to have to trade for some bullpen help or not.
