I would say one would be an achievement. They are going to get that car in Victory Lane soon enough.

Probably goose egg. Maybe one, on fuel mileage. Lord knows he will never win by sheer speed and talent.

I'm going to really go out on the limb and say Jr wins one race in 2011. The odds are in favor of it.

Jr has won 10 more races than kyle, u can't compare him to kyle petty.

Jr 18 wins, 150 top tens didn't say how many races he has been in

kyle petty 8 wins, 173 top tens in 829 races(30 years)

Has it taken this long for everyone to finally figure that out? He's not a chip off the ole block so to speak.

2 races...Don't know why or how. If he wasn't making millions I would be feeling sorry for the guy.

why would anyone compare him to his dad? to do what his dad did is not an easy task

He shouldn't be comapred to his dad but usually is. Same way with any athlete following in his dad's foot steps. Not fair for any of them. That's why I said if he wasn't making millions I would probably be feeling sorry for him.

I used to go to Nashville fairgrounds weekly racing every saturday (back in the day). Dale jr used to come race there occasionally, and never even came in 2nd. With the best car, best crew, and a hall of fame bloodline, he never even won there. That told me all I ever needed to know about his "skills".

Wow. That is just pitiful. He sucks more than I thought he did.

I am a Dale Jr. fan.*

I know little, if anything, about NASCAR - whatsoever. *

I am uncertain as to how these two facts correlate, if at all.

*Both Dooz and RB will attest to each of these statements as being absolutely true and correct.

I've been doing a little research on Little E for this thread.

From 2000-03, Dale Jr. won an average of two races per year. His best year was 2004, when he won six races. From 2005-10, he won only three races.

To win 18 races in the Cup Series, you have to have done something right at one time or another. But, I have to somewhat discredit seven of those wins, the ones at the restrictor plate tracks. I will give him credit and say he is better at these tracks than most, but equipment has a lot to do with his success. When he won those races on those tracks, the DEI cars were unstoppable. I mean, if Michael Waltrip can win races at those tracks in those cars, really anyone could. So skill and talent has little to do with those wins, IMO. I don't remember the circumstances from the rest of the wins, but I'm sure in most of them he had the better car and won the race straight out. However, one's like Michigan '08 I have to discredit also because it was a fuel mileage win. A win is a win no doubt, but some credibility is lost when a driver wins a race this way.

Obviously, Dale Jr. has had some success in his career. But whatever magic he had early in his career has long since past him by. He has success occasionally, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

In conclusion, Dale Jr. has had skill, talent, desire to win, whatever you want to call it at one time. But now, yes, Dale Jr. is terrible.
