The Official Detroit Lions Den Thread

Yeah, the Titans suck. The man made a choice based on tons of information, and chose the Titans! You chose to believe he shafted you because we suck, and you are superior. Makes sense. Most lion fans came to the Titan thread saying we made a great hire. That is class.

He was a good hire for the Titans. But he made a bad choice by picking Nashville. Detroit is in a position to win a Super Bowl next year. He was scared and just took the easy route and picked a team with much lower expectations.

Come on now. He was your #1 choice. Now he is scared? He had a great situation with the lions, and said screw that in with the Titans. Watch him win big here. He chose his route. Why is it wrong? Once again, nothing but respect. I really thought he was your next coach.

This is a good list minus Kubiak. Honestly I get tired of any time there are openings the lists are usually retreads. I mean those guys got fired for a reason.

Belicheck fired at Cleveland

Carroll fired at New England

Fox fired at Carolina

Sometimes all it takes is a new atmosphere for coaches.

Kubiak is a good coach. Really can't believe Houston fired him with all the injuries and him missing games with a TIA.

Good coaches don't lose 14 straight games

So you're going to hire Caldwell?

Didn't he lose first 14 when Peyton was out?

I would not hire Caldwell to coach a pee wee team. I don't care who they hire really, I was just pointing out that teams should think outside of the normal retreads. I like it when teams go get Mike Tomlin or Chip Kelly

-49ers lose on Sunday
-Greg Roman becomes Lions HC on Monday

just kidding everyone get behind Munchak or something I don't care

Per Adam Schefter:

Lions-Jim Caldwell official. Hired. Browns last team with an HC opening.

He is starting to grow on me.

This would give me concern though:

Spoke to my father after church, who is a Wake grad and long-time fan of the football team. He had nothing positive to say about Caldwell's tenure in Winston-Salem. He said besides just poor coaching the players were often out of shape and poorly conditioned, at some stages the players were vomiting due to exhaustion.

I don't like that one bit.

I find this hire shocking.
Why fire Schwartz if you're just going to end up hiring Caldwell?

I'm sorry guys;

Looks like they are getting my boy Zimmer :cray:

Zimmer wouldn't have been able to get Hue Jackson as his OC, so it's probably a good thing the Titans passed on him.

Anyways, Caldwell can be a good coach if your team is loaded in talent.

Not sure how I feel, didn't he take the Colts to the SB?

Caldwell had as much of an affect on that as I did. I felt like you guys needed a coach to bring some discipline, you won't get that with Caldwell. When he is on sideline you can't tell if the score is 45-0 or 3-52.

Congrats Lions fans!

We just hired a guy who had one of the bottom five offenses in football!

Yay!!!
