The Official Detroit Pistons Thread

I don't think I've ever hated a player so much just for how he plays like Josh Smith.

He's literally a ******n idiot.

Josh is the same player he's always been. The Pistons had been watching him for nine years. The bigger ******n idiots are the guys who thought moving him even farther out from the basket had any chance to work.

You are completely right. I'm not abstaining Joe Dumars from the absolute idiocy that has happened.

BUT DEAR GOD JOSH THERE IS A REASON NOBODY GUARDS YOU OUTSIDE 15 FEET.

Just saw one of the worst calls in an NBA game I've seen in a LONG time.

Biggest win of the season. Josh is finally taking the ball inside.

Maybe this team has seen the light.

We are 7-4 in the last 11 games. Not sure how we will do in the playoffs but I see a lot of bright things to come from this young team.

I don't love this team yet.

If we can trade Josh Smith this summer, build around Drumroe, and find a deadeye shooter, this has a chance to become a great team.

Up by 14 to start the 4th quarter at home to the ****ing Charlotte Bobcats, they get out scored 41-17 in the 4th.

I hope they can't sleep at night.

It's been a bad six weeks for the Pistons.

1) Because Gores is cheap, he refused to amnesty Ben Gordon. This is going to cost a first round pick because our 2014 pick is only top eight protected and Detroit is currently 10th in draft order. This is bad. Missing the playoffs and not getting a draft pick is the worst thing ever.

2) You wanna know how dumb Mo Cheeks is? Our top two shot takers are shooting 37.8% from the field and 41.4% from the field. Not only that, the Pistons are one of the ten worst defensive teams in the association. I'm for stability, but this is a fireable offense. He's Dooley incompetent.

3) Then our best player is going to be a restricted free agent, and is only getting 11 shot attempts a game. It's embarrassing.

4) Brandon Jennings has been highly disappointing. He cannot shoot and he is awful defensively. Would have rather kept Brandon Knight for half the cost. We would have had Khris Middleton too, who is shooting 40% from 3.

5) If I'm Gores, I tell Dumars to tank. He blew it this off season and should get fired anyways. Trade Smith for anything, trade Stuckey and Villanueva as expirings for anything, and tank it all away to get a draft pick.

6) If the Pistons get a top eight pick and can't get Wiggins/Parker for SF, I'd be perfectly happy drafting Rodney Hood for the SF.

Tom Gores ain't ****ing around.

Going over Joe Dumars to fire Mo Cheeks after two straight victories?

Man, that is not good for Dumars.

Hollins or Karl would be a good fit there, IMO.

Be fine with either of those.

I'd be more confident in Karl.

Honestly, I'd rather just hire Rasheed as interim, tank, trade Smith/Jennings, and start over.

I think we still get in the playoffs

They have too.

They played pretty good tonight. Nice victory. Still too many shots for Smith/Jennings and not enough for Monroe.

But it was a nice victory tonight and good way to get the John Loyer Era going.

Maybe this becomes a Frank Vogel-Pacers type situation.

Gets the job mid season, changes the cultures, rebuilds the team around the young guys, installs energy on a daily basis, demands defense, gets this team to the playoffs, perform well there, and do some damage in the future.

Would be nice.

It was an impressive win, who knows, this could change everything. I know Dumars is hoping, he may be next to go.

Does that epic fail double dunk sum up the pistons season?
It made it on shaqin a fool.

I can't recall ever being something like that as in a failed dunk that involved two players.
Seems like the basketball version of two outfielders trying to catch the ball no communication instead running into each other.
