He’s developed, but I think his main issue is that he’s not durable enough. If you remember his sophomore season, he drove a lot and got to the FT line a lot. He probably averaged somewhere between 7-10 FT’s a game. Now, he hardly ever drives and is just more of a jump shooter. I think that’s because 1. That’s what K wants him to do - just shoot and 2. Sometimes he takes really hard falls on those drives and that bangs him up and then his play decreases for the next game or so. I also think he’s not playing with the same edge he that he’s played with before because he’s trying so hard not to get mixed up in any controversies. So he’s just kinda going out there and taking jump shots and that’s it. He’s definitely effecting games without scoring, but he looks very timid to me. He’s not hunting his shots at all, just deviating and almost trying to go unnoticed.

I agree with a lot of this. Allen has to be the catalyst. I don't give a damn if he trips a guy or gets into a fight, he's got to get that fire back. He s a great player, but he's limiting himself right now.

I agree, he has to the the catalyst. All of these guys are basically freshman. When we play a good opponent like UVa or go to UNC in a couple weeks, Allen has to be the one to set the tone in those kind of games. He’s gotta be the one to hit some shots and play hard so those guys will follow suit during a rivalry game like UNC.

Bad news for the Heels, Felton has been suspended by the University, not the basketball team, but the university. I'm guessing some sort of academic misconduct or hopefully not something worse. Berry better be in good shape.

K is getting Calipari'd this year. Very, very hard to get 4-6 true freshmen that are only using Duke as mandatory pre NBA filler to come together and be dominant. Not enough aggressiveness, not enough understanding how important it is to go hard for 40 minutes every time you put the jersey on.

He isn't "getting Calipari'd" by some outside force. He is "Calpari-ing" himself via recruiting. If he isn't careful Duke will fall into the same pitfalls UK has fallen into. Duke won in 2014 with a great group of freshman, but there some really good vets on that team. Without those kind of players and without a transcendent star, it's probably impossible to win it all.

Fellow UK fans are complaining about the recruiting downturn, but personally I think we'll still be fine when players return and improve.

Agreed. I thought my supporting sentences to the main sentence supported that it wasn’t an “outside force.” It’s just the one and done system. Showcases great talent, but it’s very difficult to get that talent to gel so quickly and easily.

I said Duke would sweep UNC this year and although I’m not as confident as I was 3 weeks ago, I’m gonna stick with that prediction. GTHC!!

Only being up 4 at half in this game kinda makes it feel like Duke is losing. Outplayed them but they’re hitting their 3’s
