If the lineup can get to Evansville ace, the series is over. Evansville’s only shot is to win today or else they’re cooked. GBO should blow out G2 with Beam (is he still the G2 starter??). Evansville’s pitching is thin, thin, thin, so a theoretical G3 should be a monster blowout (assuming the hitters come out as normal). GBO wins 98.2 out of 100 times on the simulations (which is really, really high for college baseball).

If anyone is going to the game today or looking for a place to watch or eat, go today to Calhoun's on the River. Basilio is doing his show 11am untill around 1:30 maybe even 2 live from there. And if you don't have a ticket im sure people will be hanging out there watching. Already people are showing up so head over! Also tomorrow he's doing a listener watch party at Calhoun's and doing his post game show there as well live. Sorry if already posted but 2 cool days there by Tony B and his group. Go VOLS Go

Yes, they are. I’m sure Tony has drilled into their heads to be aware of all the pitfalls that could lie in wait. Plus, we’ve got an intelligent group of youngsters and they know baseball well enough to understand what needs to be done here.

Yes, the Beamer is still the Game 2 starter.

I watched three Evansville right handers pitch on Monday. They largely held ECU in check...(5 runs = good for college ball pitching).

The last two were very poised. Aka Kirby, they didn't let 5000 screaming Pirate fans bother them any. Plus, they had SEC Head Ump Jeff behind the plate with his usual mix of varying strike zones.

I was most impressive.

Will go out on the limb and predict a small non-boisterous Lindsey Nelson crowd this afternoon at the awkward starting time. Purple Aces to win game 1.

Fair points. I was glued to that game as well. I was very impressed with their comeback and maintaining the one run lead the last three innings.

However, just my opinion, Southern Miss and Indiana are better than Evansville. I would trust the hitters to knock around those high 80s fastballs (lol). Also, and this is not a knock on anyone, LNS is a hitters paradise on most days. Several balls that game would have gone 20-30+ feet over the fence in Knoxville.
