So-so weekend for the Hendrick Motorsports.

#48- Had a car capable of winning. Just got caught out on some stops.

#24- Good car, great weekend. Great pit strategy. That last 2 tire stop was brilliant. These next tracks are in Jeff's wheelhouse.

#88- Another solid top 10 weekend. If he snatches a win he may have a shot at this thing.

#5 - Who?

The 24 is focused. If he keeps this string of good runs, he'll be right there in the end at Homestead.

Oh yeah. He has that look in his eyes. He wants it. The cars are good. Alan is making good calls.

The crowd went NUTS when that 24 crossed the line. They want it. All of them.

Wish he had that Loudon race back

Honestly. But thats the chase. You gotta ask, how good is your good, and how bad is your bad? So far his bad is 15th or so and his good is 3rd. We need to see his good being 1st and his bad being a top 10.

If he finishes 5th for the next 5 races, he'll be right there at Homestead. He doesn't have to win but it's easier said than done.

Very good point!

As Matt K. has shown, winning doesn't mean a great deal. You would think two wins would buy you a lot of comfort space, it really didn't.

From Jayski:

#24-Jeff Gordon won the Pole Award for the 54th Annual Bank of America 500 with a lap of 27.791 seconds, 194.308 mph.
This is his 74th pole in 720 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
This is his second pole and 16th top-10 start in 2013.
This is his ninth pole in 42 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He earned his first career pole at Charlotte Motor Speedway ion Oct. 10, 1993, becoming the youngest pole winner at the track -- 22 years, 2 months, 6 days. The record still stands.
Jeff Gordon won five straight poles for the spring races at Charlotte Motor Speedway between 1994 and 1998.

If he's to win the Chase, he's going to have to win a race or two. I really don't think I've ever cheered for one of my favorite "teams" than I have been for the #24 team the last few years.

Just. One. More.

I feel you. Really pouring my heart into cheering on Jeff.

Trash on the front of the 88. Those strong running Hendrick motors don't like excessive heat. May need to tuck behind Blue Eyes to clear it.
