Absolutely disgusted! How, as a team can you be so dominant, lead that many laps and not get the job done? I know things could be worse, but there are four crew chiefs and Kasey Khane who need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Jimmie also needs to glance in the mirror. Lost valuable point tonight.

Jeff could not get the handle.

Kasey ran well. He is still as soft as a pillow. If this was Dale Sr., he would have found a way to get to the rear bumper of Brad.

Dale Jr., ran well at times, but it seems as though something let go as the race went on. Junebug was complaining about a tight condition developing.

Been worse? Worse then driving second and completely falling apart?

Could of crashed out and finished 40th.

Could have been involved in a "big one" that takes out multiple hms cars.

In terms or an RP race, Jeff should take some pleasure in a top 15 finish. Yes it could have been a lot better, but it could have been terrible.

Also, big props to JJ for taking the points lead!!!

I didn't realize he jumped to 14th. He was about 20 when the white flag came. That makes me feel better

Yeah he finished up 14th. That inside line was nothing going at the end. He had a car to win but that is Dega for you.

Here is my HMS breakdown:

48: Didn't crash, finished in the top 15. He had a strong car, wrong place, wrong time.

24: Didn't crash, finished in the top 15. He had a strong car, wrong place, wrong time.

88: Didn't crash, finished in the top 5. He had a strong car, wrong place, wrong time.

5: Didn't crash, finished the race. Ole Candy Cane had his day ruined by going down a lap. If there was any debate if he had a shot for the Cup, the debate is over.

Congrats to the 48 for taking the points lead!! I know the crowd at Dega was really excited to see that!

It just sucks that the leader of the Chase finished right behind him...

Yeah. Would have been cool if Jeff dumped Matt for old times sake, but Jeff isn't that kinda guy. You race Jeff clean and he will do the same. Also with the restart rules, you can't dump someone until the white flag and assure yourself a W.

A great drive from Jeff though. Lots of patience from the 4 time champ.

Just re-watched the race. Great stuff.

What a celebration by Jeff. That motor is done!!! He hit the rev-limiter 64 times! Nice drifting!

Been waiting for this definitely. I want him to come out strong next year. The last two seasons, he has started out slow and not racked up wins, which is what is ultimately needed to further your seeding in the chase.
