I thought I read some where that JGR switched to TRD because they felt TRD had a better engine program. I could be completely making this up.

They do, but JGR does their own engine tuning once they get the motors. I think I remember it being talked about last year, that Gibbs engine guys push the limit to get max hp.

If that's the case maybe they should leave them alone and see if they can make through a race without an issue.

Having that last caution helped. Once the tires cooled off they were more even. Getting to someone and passing them is two different things when both cars want to run the same line.
