He dropped the window net. Fox never showed him getting out of the car though. The next screenshot was Hamlin being shown attention laying on the race track.

They just said that he's alert and awake, but they're going to take him to the hospital just to be sure. Hopefully it's just a concussion and nothing really serious. There's no race next weekend, so with any luck he can be ready to go at Martinsville in a couple weeks.

It's hard not to see head on impacts with the wall like that and not be reminded of similar looking wrecks where a dead body was removed from the car. Just the simple fact that he was able to drop the net and climb out of the car is a good sign IMO.
