The Official Jones Coaching Staff Thread (Updated)

Maybe it's just me but this staff looks like it is full of a bunch of yanks with no SEC experience. Really not happy that a proven coach like Pittman was let go to hire someone with no SEC experience.

 Do people seriously not pay attention to s**t before they post? You have two guys who were on the Auburn staff A MATTER OF DAYS AGO. Not to mention two former Georgia DC's on staff. Good Lord I live in Ireland and I keep up to date better than a lot of posters on here. :ermm:

It is amazing to see people complain about a successful coach and his development of his staff. There is a reason that most of you have never been offered a head coaching position in the SEC. Urban Meyer brought his staff from Utah to Florida and won a national championship. Go figure.

And about the bald comments. Hair is overrated. See Derrick Dooley.

5 coaches with no SEC experience at all, out of 9 staff hires, one of which is running our offense.

Mahoney, who was hired to replace Pittman on the offensive line, has NO SEC experience. None, O. Nada.

And Auburn ****ing sucked this past year. So congratulations on those epic hires. Calm the **** down dude. I didn't say these guys would not get it done. I just meant I had some concerns about the hires and was not blown away in general since I was told we were getting "the best staff in the country".

Pittman had NO SEC experience before this year, got fired from North Carolina and Tennessee. Get off Pittman's nuts, its getting strange.

Not talking about Pittman, not have I ever mentioned his name Jackass. He had credibility as a good OL coach. The failures of the SEC we hired stink as bad as Dooley.

The SEC is great, no doubt...but there really is a limit to the SEC fixation, doncha think? Is the SEC great because of great coaches? Or because of great players? Probably some of each, but I would say that it could be objectively proven that SEC players are just of a higher caliber than other conferences.

In the end that is somewhat irrelevant though. We had some great assistant coaches and have had good classes for the last several years...and yet we consistently lost to teams with comparable talent. Winning is about getting the most out of what you have. We haven't done that for a while. CBJ's staff may or may not do that, but in the end I think that has less to do with their SEC experience and more about whether they can work as a cohesive unit with a single vision. We didn't lose to KY last year due to lack of player or coaching talent. We lost due to lack of vision and unity. It feels to me like CBJ will bring that and that might bring us a handful of wins against comparable teams...that we have been losing to.
