It's been a theory the entire time that Jack ended up on the island and pretty much did a loop and "acted" out the life he was supposed to. I remember seeing this theory back around season 3. He knew exactly where to run to when he awoke in the bamboo and knew exactly what to do in pretty much every instance. I always kept that theory in the back of my mind but we will see I guess.
