The Official Michael Cohen Testimony Thread

Politically, we're not better than that. We haven't been for a very long time. I know, you think Trump's the worst, but have you ever considered that he's just horrible at hiding it? Those who lie to you but make you believe are far more dangerous, IMO. You're a shill in a con game, Luther, and you fail to see it. That's what politics has become.

What's your answer? There's a limited number of people on a ballot I can vote for (I've written in names...useless). I have to decide out of those few who is best to run the city, county, state and country. You may call a person who speaks up a shill but there is really not much else one can do.

You can run for office and let society decide.

Sure we are better than that politically and always have been. You can normalize Trump and the current state of politics if you wish, but I'll remain firmly planted be on the other side of that fence.
No luther, we're not. You live in denial. Both Obama and Bill Clinton weaponized the government to political ends. Bush lied about WMDs, Reagan had IranContra. And all you can do is scream "Trump's a liar!". The reason you're remaining on the other side of the fence is you're a sheep eating the grass.

This may be painful, but Trump apparently isn't a good guy.

No, he's not, but he's "not a good guy" in just a different way that career politicians. He's brash, and they are sneaky. I think most career politicians are just as dirty in their own way ... particularly since we as a country seem un-bothered by political graft and bribery. I have no idea what you call favored legislation and campaign donations if it isn't bribe and payback ... which if Trump did in business would have him in prison. Insider trading would also have Trump in prison, but politicians make out like bandits on what they know will happen. You can make millions wheeling and dealing in business, but theoretically, you couldn't make millions on a congressional salary. Trump's biggest problem is being an outsider and having played a different game than long time politicians, and they see him as a threat to their dirty game because he hasn't been doing what they have and is immune to their own form of criminality. Trump is simply the loose cannon that could expose them and upset their cozy little world ... which is representing themselves ... not us.

Not only that, but Donald Trump is by far and away the most despicable person to ever hold the office and should never be normalized.

All that hyperbole makes you sound absolutely Trumpian.

So basically we learned Trump comittied a campaign finance violation, which we all assumed happened, and had an advisor who knew about Wikileaks and gave him a heads up about it.. Doesn’t seem to rise to anything besides a slap on the wrist. And as Trump inner circle guy he didn’t have any knowledge of Trump, or his campaign, working with the Russian government. Just being dishonest about his business ventures. Oops not against the law. So a big nothing Burger.

The FEC will not even call it a campaign finance violation, he won't even get a slap on the wrist.

Only about 4. Two biological and 2 adopted. One is black and the other biracial. If you want to see a racist look in the mirror Rev Al.
That settles it.....you're not racist. I doubt you have an adopted black child if you refer to all black as thugs and criminals. Try again.

I wish I had a good answer, but temper tantrums and hissy fits because the candidate you wanted to win, lost, is not the answer. Political theater and weaponizing the government for political reasons is not the answer. If you want Trump out of office, vote his ass out. If your candidate doesn't win, accept it and hope for a better result in the next election. The vast majority of Trump attacks on this board pertain to his character. Very little actually pertain to his politics or policies.

I refer to thugs as thugs. That’s good as I don’t need you to believe anything because your gonna believe whatever you have to in order to maintain your victimhood.

We've accepted worse, and I'm sure we'll face worse still. Politics will continue to get dirtier and dirtier as both sides sink lower and lower. What's sad is you'll continue to try and justify the tactics of the left rather than opening your eyes to a simple truth. Both sides are corrupt, and they've corrupted our government. Each side carries equal guilt as each side has tried to one up the other in the pursuit of power.
We've had the same conversation multiple times. I think you're wrong. You think I'm wrong. You accept Trump. I do not. You justify Trump by saying they're all horrible. I condemn Trump by saying no one else is even remotely as bad. You say both parties are equally corrupt and sinking lower and lower at what I would assume you believe to be an equal rate. I say one is more guilty and that Trump represents rock bottom. I think there is a societal self-fulfilling prophecy in play which again highlights why it's imperative we reach critical mass on the Trump fiasco. You may the one needing to open your eyes and glimpse the alternative horizons.

Tantrums and hissy fits are just a form of free speech. If I don't like the policies and or character of an office holder I certainly will let it be known and vote for someone else as soon as possible. As far as Trump is concerned I vehemently oppose his politics and his character.
