The Official Michael Cohen Testimony Thread

You certainly see reality differently. I doubt you see it more clearly.

Here's a hypothetical for you, what if Elizabeth Warren gets elected? Would you support her after her years of lying about being Native American? Should we appoint a SC to investigate any benefits she may have gotten from her false claims? What if that SC digs up other sordid yet unrelated tidbits about her past? Would her lies justify undoing a lawful election and remove her from office? What would you say to people who claimed her cultural appropriation made her the worst ever?

“Well that’s um um um different”

And that's fine, but the political theater that elected officials have engaged in since Trump was elected in no way benefits our country. If "embarrassment" was really a concern, why are we so adamant to show the world our dirty underwear? I've said all along, if you want Trump gone, vote him out in 2020. What's currently happening in government is far more harmful than helpful to our country.
I strongly disagree. Accepting Trump would be the worst action, especially for the long term.

I don't see it that way at all. Trump has been shown to be exactly what I thought him to be, by far and away the most despicable person to ever hold the office and an embarrassment to all.
So if you already thought all that what did Cohen tell you that's new?

Confederacy, I bought it on a whim. Thought it was fascinating. Ignatius actually reminded me of someone I know (or knew then). Then it won a Pulitzer. I knew the original run was very small. Lucky me. It's worth a few bucks now.

As you probably know the title came from this Jonathan Swift quote: "When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."
I did know that. I love the quote and have used it on occasion.

There is a superficial appeal to the excuse that all Presidents or all prominent politicians are in some way dishonest or devious schemers. Degree of guilt matters.

Accepting the results of a lawful election would be the worst action? Damn Luther, let's just rip that Constitution up.

Even if one "accepts" the election result that doesn't mean that you ignore it if it turns out you've elected an organized crime kingpin. The election is not some sort of four year pass for things you learn about later.

The only thing Trump is accused of that a previous President hasn't done is the collusion charge. If Mueller can prove that Trump himself knowingly conspired with Russia, you have a case. Otherwise this is all a big nothing burger.

So basically we learned Trump comittied a campaign finance violation, which we all assumed happened, and had an advisor who knew about Wikileaks and gave him a heads up about it.. Doesn’t seem to rise to anything besides a slap on the wrist. And as Trump inner circle guy he didn’t have any knowledge of Trump, or his campaign, working with the Russian government. Just being dishonest about his business ventures. Oops not against the law. So a big nothing Burger.
Ding ding ding! Winner winner chicken dinner!

So you support all future President's being subjected to these types of investigations, right?

All of this crap started with Russian collusion, now that rarely even gets mentioned. Then obstruction, that is pretty much also dead now. So what is the far left, left with? Hush money to a hooker? I have never been more convinced this President hasn't done anything wrong.

Oh, I'm sure he's done plenty wrong, just nothing that rises to the level of impeachment. Even if he was found to obstructed, that rises to impeachment but not removal from office, as Clinton was found to have obstructed. The only charge that seems to justify removal from office is if they can prove collusion.
