The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

She's not good, nor with she ever be in the future. There's not much uncertainty about it.

There's a few free agents this offseason that would be an upgrade for SHR.

She's had enough time to prove herself. She is what she is.

Taken from Reddit:

""""Since 2012, Patrick has run in 167 Cup Series races. In those 167 starts, she has only managed to finish inside of the top-10 on seven different occasions. Patrick has run 47,506 laps in her NASCAR career, of which only 64 of them have been while she was leading a race. In her 167 starts, she has finished 144 of those races. However, she has only finished 64 races in her career on the lead lap, that’s 38 percent.""""

The 5, 10, and 88 rides will definitely be in play this offseason. I don't expect the drivers for those respectable rides, besides the 88 obviously, to be retained.

Ive heard rumors that the 10 or the 43 may be a place for bubba.

I would just like to let the record show that I've been saying this from day one.

In fact, I even promised to leave the board if she ever won a race*.

*Promise does not include plate races.
Well, she won that one Indy car race when everyone else ran out of gas. Of course I wouldn't count that as a legit win either.

This applied to NASCAR, when she first came over.

She was a far better IndyCar driver, and all wins count as legit, regardless of fuel mileage or not.

All wins count the same. However if someone only has 1 fuel mileage win for their entire career that's just a matter of luck. Not the result of best car or a great driver.

Go Bubba!

I'm hoping Wood Bros for him.

Blaney to Stewart-Hass if I had to wager. Bubba Wallace to Woods and Brad K isn't going anywhere. I think Hendrick needs to reorganize the 5 and 88 teams. I expect Greg Ives will become 24s crew chief too.

The 5 team is the old 25 team aka low man on the totem pole aka the team Hendrick gives the least amount **** about.

Kasey Kahne didn't just forget how to drive. The history of that team and car has never performed well.

I don't know why anybody would take that job.

It is a ride with a top tier team. Would you rather have the worst car at the best team or the best car at the worst team?

I don't see Keselowski leaving Penske, unless he gets frustrated by not having a deal yet completed. I can see Larson being lured to Hendrick to be paired with Elliott. Stenhouse is also a free agent at Roush, and if he leaves to take a ride at SHR or Hendrick replacing Danica or Kahne, that's another potential ride open for Blaney and Wallace.
