The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

My proposal;

If you're running for Cup points you get six races total to run in the lower series. You can run all six in Nationwide, all six in trucks, or a combination thereof. Also start from the rear every race, must run for an team independent of the team you run for in Cup, and to further discourage owners from running Cup guys, if you run a Cup guy, you will no longer get purse winnings.

I'm okay with this as well.

They'd sell even less

I don't know how much less though. I know at Bristol, if you have season tickets, which everyone who keeps their seats from year to year does, you have no choice but to buy the Nationwide tickets with the Cup tickets. I'm sure it's the same deal at nearly every other track. I'd be willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of Nationwide series attendance comes from people who get the tickets as a package with their Cup tickets, so the presence of Cup drivers or not might not affect the actual ticket sales that much.

I had season tickets at a few tracks. They were strictly for the Cup race.

It very well may have changed in recent years. I know when I was going to Bristol regularly about 10 years ago everyone we bought tickets from would always have same seats for the Cup and Busch races because they had to be bought as a package.

I must have overlooked the part where NASCAR said they'd be willing to pick up the bill for each race team they refuse to allow the opportunity for the sponsor to pick who they want driving their car. Can somebody show me where they said that?

If Kyle can't win(which I have zero confidence that he'll ever win the 500), I'd like to see Hamlin win
