We've been going to the SECT in Hoover since 2003. Definitely in Bammer country, but we've always been treated well & have a great time. Discovered Saw's BBQ this year (delicious). You are a REAL Vol fan living there, so hang tough.
I was born and raised in Bama. I learned at a very early age to be able to handle teasing and poor sportsmanship.

The state is beautiful and the people are generally nice. I even know some really good Bama fans. Its the ignorance and lack of respect that drives me crazy. But there’s also those fans in every fanbase. Just ask Philly.

Hoover is one of the nicest places I’ve lived in this state, so that helps. there’s lots of opportunity for our kids and the community as a whole is very welcoming. It helps thag its not far from my hometown so i can go up and be a country boy and fish and hunt if I want to, but still have a nice home with plenty of options in one of the biggest cities in Bama.

Great! Talked with a young man working as a parking staff worker at Hoover Met this week. He just moved down from Minnesota & was asking questions about living in the South, college sports rivalries, etc. I filled him in; he was particularly amazed at how team buses were escorted through traffic by the police...I said, "You oughtta see it during football season!" Also gave him tips about tailgating & hanging around fan bases. Just doin' my part as an old Confederate.

Which Saws are you going to? There’s one in Hoover now near Best Buy, but Im still partial to the Original one in Homewood.

What was your favorite smoke this year?

Did @taylorvol get a hold of one?

We dined twice at the Saw's in Hoover, near Best Buy. Grilled cheese/brisket sandwich was awesome. Ate there twice, & also at our favorite breakfast place, Salem's Diner in Homewood. Owner Wayne Salem (former Bama footballer) greeted us with "Welcome Vol Nation!"

You ask might tough questions, my friend! I've got a few left, but that Partagas left me sighing...rich, perfect burn/ash & truly an elegant smoke. I'm in your debt & you're my #1 Texas troubadour! Cigar tasted especially nice after Vols beat vandie!

Next time you’re in Homewood, go to the original Saw’s. Its worth the drive.

I think think it has more to do with the competition than the stadium dimensions:

Northern KY is 149 in RPI. They are 6-11 across Quads 1-3 and 27-11 across quad 4. SOS of 269.

They score a lot but also give up a lot of runs. Look to have one decent pitcher. We’ll probably see him. We play our game, we should still win comfortably.

All that said, “Lipscomb”. Their RPI is 228.
Thank you for this. I got temporarily nervous when I saw their stats. I (probably wrongly) assumed they had the smallest allowable ball park etc that made their stats so impressive.

Their RPI isn't very good compared to the Vols.

I might have smoked something that is as good as that Partagas but I can’t think of anything I would say is better.

Any truth to the rumor UT will be adding those temporary seats they used to have down the left field line the past 3 season over at the end of the right field line where some small steel bleachers were?

my skin grows thinner with each passing year in the badlands

wife is ua grad, and we've llved 45 minutes from hoover since 1982
Heup has made it much more tolerable. Now if he can just get a few in a row…..we can own the state again, plus Auburn fans will pile on so it makes them more tolerable too!

You can add one more Vol to the Hoover registry in 3-4 years, I've got property down there planned for retirement (if that ever happens). My Dad was a Bama grad and we used to take the train down from Nashville, salute to L&N, for the Third Saturday at Legion Field. I miss those days,

My favorite Peyton game I ever saw in person was the 95 Legion Field gutting. Its too bad its in such a terrible part of town.
