The Official Tennessee @ #8 Florida Game Thread, 4:00pm ET, ESPN3

He got T'd up for cussing according to the reports after the game.

Hell, I don't care if a guy shows emotion, but if it is detrimental to the team and could've resulted in a 5 point swing then hell yes I get pissed. It's a selfish act. The kid hadn't played until 17 seconds to go and woofs at a player that would eat him alive if they played the entire game? That's weak IMO.

To be fair, if we go by the little time washpun did play... he would be the one eating them alive. Small sample, but still.

Congrats on your big win. You guys kicked our sorry butts and then to prove it was no fluke you did it again. We suck. Plain and simple. They dressed us up like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. Appropriate since we are a team with no heart. Your team is gritty. They nay not always be good, but they always bounce back. Our team gets behind in the first half, turns tail and runs. You guys are on your way back.

Again, it was garbage time and Washpun could do as he pleased.

I'm fairly comfortable in saying that Boynton will always be twice the player that Washpun ever will be. Washpun is a little bulldog, but he is nowhere in Boynton's league.

Oh come on let's stop exaggerating. There are few players that wouldn't yell "Get that **** outta here" after a block like that. It happens in the NBA every week. Get off your high horse. Hell even I yelled it from my couch!

Exaggerating? High horse? Good Lord. Who is the one exaggerating here? He cussed at the player and got a T. That's a selfish, dumb act. He made a good play and followed it up by woofing and doing something stupid. Act the hell like you've been there before.

And F the NBA. I could give two sh*ts about that league. That is why the kids act selfish at times trying to emulate their heroes. Thanks, you proved my point.

It's a common saying and act in the game of basketball. It's not selfish. It comes out. What's the difference between that and screaming after a dunk? Holding three fingers up after a made three or clapping at the ball carrier as he dribbles up the court? You are acting like he threw a racial slur out there. Acting like he mentioned his mother. S$&t talking happens a lot in sports. It's not a question of if you've been there or not.

F the NBA? Lol. How dare they try to emulate the best players in the world. The audacity of these selfish people to want to be like the best. "get that **** outta here" is said many times in basketball without a tech. In fact it was a stupid tech and it was an amateur move to call that tech. If he grabbed his balls and got in the guys face and talked smack you may have a point but he didn't.

I can't believe we've resorted to dogging a kid for a terribly called tech and for doing something a majority of basketball players have done once in their career. We beat Florida. Be happy. You wouldn't have called for a technical foul if Florida did it to us. I know I wouldn't. It's a ridiculous call.

It's obvious you've never coached at any level of basketball. Ever. If you don't think Martin had a talk with Washpun after his actions then you're clueless. That's why you're a fan and not a coach. You don't have a clue like the majority of blind homers. I'll leave it at that.

If Washpun wants to see any playing time in the future, I'll guarantee you that if he continues that kind of stupidity (after only getting in the game with seconds to go) then he'll have his ass further buried on the bench than he already was.

And I enjoyed the game. Loved it actually. I didn't let Washpun's stupid act ruin it for me. Just called it like it was. A dumb, selfish act which any coach worth his salt would agree.

Shweew!! Sure glad that the caught the only curse word!! My gosh, you've got their players shoving ours in the chest after timeouts and fouls are called on numerous occaisions and being VERY animated, but I'm sure they did'nt curse. Heck, watch the replay. You couldn't even see Washpuns lips move. If they are going to start passing out T's for cussing in college BBall the games will take 5 hours and everyone will be recruiting 5'5" guys that shoot 75% from the line.

.....besides, I'm just saying to quit throwing the kid under the bus for getting a ridiculous call at a crucial moment by a ref that had an obvious agenda. It's not like he was acting like a Florida player or something.

he almost cost us the game, if we lost that how many people would call for his head?

we won by 5, if they hit both ft its a 3 ponit game. no thank you!

thankfully we didnt lose and its a learning experience, but it could have been real ugly.

Was it a bad call? Absolutely.

Should Washpun do something unnecessary late in a semi close game like that? Absolutely not.

That is OB's point.

Exactly why the ref should be questioned. A curse word in college bball......REALLY?

I'm just saying that it probably never crossed the kids mind after he trails him down the court and packs his bag that a non-animated curse word would merit a T....it had been happening for, uh, let's see, the last 30 years maybe?

To be clear, I do see what you guys are saying. I just think that if he'd done anything to animate or taunt other than saying a curse word, I'd be right there with you, but watch the replay.....it HAD to be under his breath and I read players lips (not too hard to see that one leave the lips in college Bball) and see COACHES dropping the F-bomb constantly. Ya'll do too. Give the kid a break. That's all I'm sayin'

you dont give the ref the opportunity in that situation. very simple.
.....not sure any of us, including Washpun, realized that that was giving the ref a chance. Washpun had probably heard 500 curse words during the game. I watched F-bombs flying like it was D-Day all game. It's not like he screamed after a dunk and swung around the rim. He cursed.....so passively that you can't see anything. I understand where you're coming from, though, and, LMAO, I'll bet Washpun does too today!!

Do we know what he said? If he just yelled it, or did he say it towards a player?

Stupid call that late in the game, but even dumber for him. I hope he likes doing suicides, because that is what he deserves.

Just glad that did not spark the Florida run :)

...it obviously had something to do with the ref's Momma

A "dont do that again" is all that is necessary. You have obviously never played the game. If you think cursing is enough to go all up in arms about then you have a lot of learning to do about the basketball culture. Its common place to swear. Its common place to "taunt" a little bit following a solid play. Get the stick outta your ass. Did you get packed often in physical education? Is that why you think he should be punished? CCM has probably said the SAME THING during a game. He's probably said worse. The ref is the only one that needs talking to for calling the game inconsistently.

It was a ridiculous tech. Techs like that RARELY happen. I'd bet the house if he did the same thing on Wednesday it would NOT be called. I'd also bet that 99.999999% of the refs would not call that in college. You've gone far enough to call it selfish, so obviously it got to you. You're being a drama queen about it and its pathetic. I suppose i'll "leave it at that." :hi:

I get where you are coming from to a degree... but its ridiculous to punish a kid for doing the same things that 9 other guys on the court are doing. Stop acting like he punched someone.

i saw nobody else at that point of the game cussing. was it a ridiculous call? yes

the point though is you dont give the ref ANY excuse what so ever at that point in the game to T you up. i understand wes was excited and made a really good play, but you have to be smarter.

when golden buried ft's at the end i didnt see him say F-ya man. just gotta be smarter, thats all. its understandable why he did it, but that doesnt mean he shouldnt be punished for it IMO.
