Here’s the issue. You are over the top and make it personal by taking cheap shots at the players. Calling the “starters” entitled and prima donnas is absurd. You have no clue what you’re talking about and should take your own advice in the post above. There are several players folks on here and I’m sure they’d appreciate you following the decorum on this forum.You are being far too critical. They are trying their hardest and want to win more than you will ever know.
You are just a fan and your criticism doesn’t mean crap.
You are the problem. You don’t have any idea how hard this is for them.
Just don’t speak anymore.
Burns and Dolly have been good, but terrible at the same time. A lot of strikeouts but a lot of bombs too. Defense has been terrible, several key errors every game. Offense, guys without a lot of experience still trying to figure things out.I haven’t been able to watch much this season what’s the issue this year? I thought our pitching would be top tier
Defense has been a challenge as well as inconsistent starting pitching and hitting isn’t quite there yet.I haven’t been able to watch much this season what’s the issue this year? I thought our pitching would be top tier
You make very little sense.The feeling is mutual.
And logically, you obviously think that Frank and Tony are full of it too since they dared to get the bullpen working after the error on the laser shot to left field earlier in the game.
Dollander has now been pulled 5x in 9 starts between 93-95 pitches (only gone past 95 once). On those 5 occasions he’s given up 9 ER and 10 runs total. The trend says he was at his pitch count and a “should’ve been an out hit was meaningless. He was not going past the 5th regardless so of course the pen needed to get ready.Defense has been a challenge as well as inconsistent starting pitching and hitting isn’t quite there yet.

Literally no full time starters returned in entire 9 of hitting lineup. Total rebuild and no way this young team should have been ranked preseason #2. It was out of respect for prior seasons and pitching staff. Ended up putting unrealistic pressure and expectations on this team. I’m still optimistic that they will rebound and find their strideI was looking over the roster tonite on the UT Athletics site.
I did not realize how young we are, starting mostly freshmen and sophomores.
You are blissfully misinformed. 99% of college baseball players make NOTHING of any material significance financially from NIL. In fact, most leave with tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt due to their fractional scholarships. The big NIL money is reserved for the 4 and 5 star recruits at Neyland or TBA. Baseball doesn't hardly even get the scraps. Plus, parents or relatives of athletes have every right to be on this forum. They just shouldn’t be subjected to ignorant personal attacks on their kids or relatives.Players families should not be on this board and any chat board - neither should players for that matter. I’m sure the coaching staff and administration told them to avoid all social media.
I actually know a few current and past players and families.
It’s goes without saying that many, if not all these players, do wonderful things in the community, but that is separate and apart from their approach in the game and how they behave and how they compete in the game.
It’s two different things. These college athletes actually live in four or five different worlds:
1: public/community service;
2: going to school;
3: practice;
4: games;
5: the unseen.
And to add to the mix - many of these guys are semi professional athletes. College baseball teams should receive many more scholarships but that’s easily replaceable by NIL money abd I don’t believe that TN is scrimping on that for the baseball Vols since there are so many big $$$ boosters that are on the Vols baseball train.
It is a bullet train and will get right because I think we have a gem in Tony V.
Well said. Last year’s team was a unicorn. Doubt I will ever see such a dominant college baseball team in my lifetime.I believe the last few years spoiled us. I also believe that the Vols have a great coaching staff and that, with time and continued hard work by all involved, things will turn around and they’ll get back to their winning ways.

I hear the sarcasm. I'm by no means a negavol--I'm here for every game. It's just obviously, objectively errors that are the story of this season so far. Luckily, there's a lot of ball left to be played and the most important goals are still on the table. And I'll be here, win or lose, cheering like a maniac.You are being far too critical. They are trying their hardest and want to win more than you will ever know.
