I’m just playing along with @CAVPUT and his reverse psychology method. Our guys have seen many upper 90s fastballs in SEC play.

Apparently, there’s a lot of chatter from their fans saying he is going to shut us down. Throws upper 90s to 100 but has a lot of walks. Be patient, let him put us on base, get used to that speed, wait for your pitch and that ball is going to travel a long way.

He’s had 13 starts but only 5 decisions because he rarely goes more than 4-5 innings. He walks a lot of batters and runs his pitch count up. Patience is the key.

In his last 5 starts he has gone 1 2/3 (gave up 8 runs on 8 hits), 4.0, 5.0, 4.0 & 4.0 innings. He averaged over 18 pitches per inning in those 5 starts. Can’t be helping him out swinging away.

Speed isn’t the problem. We do worse against slower junk pitchers.
