Doesn’t help that strike zones seem to be tighter this season.Of course the runs were unearned because of his error. But I agree.
Burns and Dolander are relying too much on their fastballs in the first inning until they can get their other pitches across.
And this league is good enough to tee off on even major league fast balls.
Beam gave up 6 runs in his start yesterday and only one of them was earned. He actually has the best numbers out of the weekend starters. Burns’ ERA is pushing 5.00 which is very shocking. Teams have definitely done their homework on our pitchers.
Agreed. The latest in technology is a great advantage for hitters. Lots of virtual reality simulations and expensive auto loading pitching machines duplicating spin rate and velocity can work wonders for hitters.Beam gave up 6 runs in his start yesterday and only one of them was earned. I hit off one of those virtual reality pitching machines about 15 years ago and thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I can only imagine what they are like now.Agreed. If things don’t improve I could see Tony switching to having an “opener” like Camden for the first 2 or 3 innings and then bring the starter in to pitch 4 or 5 innings, or the rest of the way if they are going well. I would say Tony is always looking to find any way possible to make his team better.Burns ERA in conference games is over 10 but I wasn't going on ERA so much as just the number of hits they are giving up. Burns has given up 21 hits in 14 innings and Beam has given up 17 in 11 innings. That's a lot of traffic. I feel confident they'll turn it around - their stuff is too good - but if they don't I just wondered if we would shake up the rotation or just continue to pull them in the 4th inning
Yeah my teammate’s dad owned it and he was loaded so it wouldn’t surprise me if he dropped that much on it. He had an indoor facility with it and an outdoor regulation size baseball field built on his land. Needless to say, I spent a lot of my summer days in my high school years over there lolYes. Some of the advanced pitching machines cost well over $30K. It‘s crazy.
Well we do have a really deep bullpen. Hard to replace starters while still healthy.Burns ERA in conference games is over 10 but I wasn't going on ERA so much as just the number of hits they are giving up. Holy Field of Dreams! That would have been paradise for me growing up.Yeah my teammate’s dad owned it and he was loaded so it wouldn’t surprise me if he dropped that much on it. …eeesh. That fielding% though.Let’s put a bow on it. We took one out of three on the road against the number 1 team in the country. There are these pesky stats.
