Trust me I hope that’s the case still have a long way to go to find out but all I’m saying is I think it’s okay for us to not have as high expectations for this years team. We have 4 tough SEC series coming up 2 at home and 2 tough ones on the road we will see how this team responds.

Agree 100%. I assure everyone on this board that our young and new players feel the pressure put on them by the fans, media, etc. We need to move on from last year’s team. That season is over. The comparisons need to stop. This is a different team and a different season. This team will create its own path to the regionals and maybe beyond. If they go 15-15 in SEC play and make it to Omaha, everyone here would take that right now.

Teams are often better by having to go through hardship during the season. Scratching and clawing for wins can really help when the postseason comes around. Last year’s team wasn’t really tested. I think that hurt them when the postseason rolled around. The 2021 team had to come from behind many times, grind out games, and find ways to win. Ultimately, that helped them.

Give these guys time. Let’s see how they respond to adversity. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

I was admonished for not knowing baseball when I said this the other day. But this is really a series we need to win looking at our upcoming schedule, imo. Need to beat the bottom feeders.

The admonishment was likely for not knowing there are no bottom feeders in the SEC, and there are no givens in baseball. Matchups, predictions, RPI comparison's, common opponent comparisons - all those go out the window when it comes to baseball.

For comparison, OLE Miss was a bottom feeder last year and won the national championship.

There are no bottom feeders in the SEC sadly. Especially on the road. Just look at how we played against Kentucky last year.

Completely agree with you. I said in preseason that I thought it was ridiculous that this team to be ranked #2 before a game was played. When you replace all 9, it’s just not possible.

haven't hit any of the good to even decent pitching yet this season. This series and the opening weekend they couldn't touch anything.


all the numbers look good bc of the trash teams they have bashed on the schedule.
