I made a comparison to people saying Gerrit Cole’s career was over after he got rocked his first game post-spider tac ban once. I think it applies here.

It’s ok to say he had a bad game and needed to be yanked today, but to say he needs to be sent back to midweeks already is a little insane.

It’s always a nice problem to have whenever you have too many options for weekend starters. I could see them using one of the weekend days as an “opener” day. Let the starter go 3 or 4 innings of strong work and then let the next guy out of the pen do the same. Then all you have to do is get an inning or 2 from the regular bullpen guys.
