Went to the game tonight.
Happy to admit when I’m wrong on pessimistic UT predictions.
I disagree. With our pitching depth, I think we always want 9 inning games. Most teams don’t have the quality pen we have.
Would be nice if Dollander and Beam could go 5+ innings without going over 80 pitches and then have them rested for a SECT run.Hmmmm, that’s a fair point…usually. We’re in the last series of the regular season. Staff is already thinking about the post season, so if we could take one of the two 7 inning games and burn less arms…that was my point. I might add, SC used 5 guys, we used Lindsey, Combs came in and threw 5 pitches. We’re loaded.
Dollander is scheduled to start game two. Game three has not been announced.
If Arkansas loses the 1 seed today that might be the biggest choke job of having a SEC Championship in your fingertips in recent memory. They were in prime shape to clinch it last night and blew about as big of a lead you could ask for late in the game. They could fall from the 1 seed to the 3 seed if they lose today combined with LSU and Florida wins. LSU would sneak in the backdoor to claim the regular season title outright due to winning percentage from playing one less game because of a rainout.
I think this is going to be what makes it difficult for us to host. Between Alabama, Auburn, and us I think we would be the odd man out. It’s wild how incredible the SEC is this year. You realistically could have 8 SEC teams with Top 16 RPI’s but there is no way the committee is going to have 7 or 8 SEC hosts.
Auburn c*cksuckers cancelled RPI #186 or they wouldn’t be near that high. Hope we face them at Hoover or the NCAA tournament.
