The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Mine would be the block by Mariota to seal the game during the Henry 22-yard run on third and 10 in the last two minutes.

Also, I hate to say it, but decker needs to get his mind right. Dropped some easy passes.

Adoree needs to get his mind right and fair catch.

I love how everyone (basically all the media) thinks we got lucky since Kelce went down. Our defense started playing well in the 2nd with him still in the game. I do think there offense would have moved the ball better but not convinced it would have been like the 1st quarter

You know, after that drop by decker everything thing seemed to start swinging in the Titans favor, especially on the next few defensive serious. Kind of woke them up

Why? Pitt is better than NE in basically every way this year and should have beat NE if not for a BS call that should have been a TD. Pitt has better play makers on offense and a much better defense. NE has been pretty susceptible to teams like the Titans in the past. Teams that run the ball well and have a mobile QB. Our type of offense (when running well) takes the ball out of Brady's hands.

It was the correct call, and New England beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh. They dominate everyone at home and Brady is the best QB ever. Shouldn’t be hard to see why teams want to avoid them.

The Pats struggle with great defenses. Second half notwithstanding, that’s not us.

It's been a pretty weak year for QBs though. That isn't to say that Brady hasn't been great, but compared to previous seasons, it's definitely a notch below. Also, since week 12 this year, Brady has struggled a little bit.

This seems like wishful thinking. He’s the probable MVP and the best QB in the playoffs, period. What specific skill has he lost, or is this just about some stat?

Decker redeemed himself hugely with that TD catch

He did, but he was targeted 5 times and only hauled it in 2 times. One was a screen and the other was the TD. He wasn’t great in the regular season finale either.

I would just like to see a little bit more out of him.

Do you guys want to play PIT or NE? Both seem ridiculously hard

Our offense matches up better with NE’s defense (they’re closer to KC’s run defense statistically - 20th against the run - and are just as bad of a pass defense - ranked 30th in the league), as opposed to Pittsburgh (which is a top 10 run defense and a top 5 passing defense).

People seem worried about the idea of playing Tom Brady, but unless Roethlisberger, Bell, and Brown accidentally get on a plane to Aruba that Sunday, the Steelers pretty much showed that they’re also a terrible matchup for TEN (to the tune of 40-17). They’re about even statistically as far as passing offenses go (#2 and #3), with the Steelers probably having more quick-score weapons than the Pats.

I’ve been ridiculed a bit for saying it but I’d rather play The Steelers. Ben is inconsistent you never know why you’re gonna get out of him. You always know what to expect out of Brady this time of year. Either one is going to be tough but I think if we can play an entire game like we did the 2nd half yesterday evening we can play with anybody and give ourselves a shot

Like you and I talked last night in this thread, I don’t disagree with you I just think that first game we did more to absolutely kill ourselves than Pittsburgh did to beat us. The Packers with Hundley played the Steelers down to the wire and should have honestly beat them and that offense with Hundley is worse than ours is. I know that theory don’t always work in football or sports in general I just think we can hang with Pittsburgh better than Brady and New England in prime time on their field.

All of that being said, go Bills. Either way I’m just happy to be moving on and to get to converse with you fellas about some meaningful football for another week l

Mariota to mariota excluded, what was your play of the game?

So many big plays.

The Decker TD pass, great throw and big time redeeming catch for Eric. Also that block on the game sealing Henry run by Marcus as well.

I think Pittsburgh is the better team to be honest. I know it is still Brady but I'd rather play against their defense than the Steelers:

Pats
Yards Per Game - 366 (29th)
Passing Yards per game - 251.2 (30th)
Rushing per game - 114.8 (20th)
Sacks - 42 (t-7th)
Points per game - 18.5 (5th)
3rd down percent - 39% (21st)

Do you want to play Brady in 43 degree weather with a 50% chance of rain or Pittsburgh in 23 degree temps Sunday? I'm actually kinda surprised looking at the stats that New England has a better rushing attack than the Steelers to be honest.

I don’t want to play either. Pittsburgh just has weapons all over the field.

Gimme Patriots.

I guess.
