The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

If you can get anything and get rid of the contract why not? I mean he's a system running back that needs a power run offense...... We can't provide that and won't be able to until he's no longer an effective runner, maybe 1 to 2 years max is all he's got left.
System running back? 😂

Yes, in that you don't just hand it to him 8- 10 times a game and expect him to be successful. He's a volume running back that needs a power run offensive line in front of him. He's a guy you tailor your offense to, he's not a complimentary piece.

He a battering ram that you stick with to wear defense down.

A 5th and 6th?

Ouch!

We did get a player along with it too though. Former 1st round pick.

On a one year prove it deal for 2 million. I wonder if they are paying the remainder of his contract?

This is something I wish we did more of. So many big name guys go for nothing in trades. Byard, Shaq Mason, and Jalen Ramsey are just a few who were traded for peanuts. Would love to see our team get into a situation where we could be the ones taking advantage of that

He’s a zone RB actually. But I think he would do well in a power scheme too

I would assume Willis gets the start and will be pulled once he shows he's not it, again. Myself and the majority seem to agree that Willis isn't the future in Nashville. Maybe somewhere else, just not for the Titans. Either way, I'll be in the stands Sunday to support the team.

Most of those guys are usually just 1 year rentals though aren't they?

I disagree. You think the Bills wouldn't want him because he doesn't fit their system?

No, I'm sure somebody would take him. But if their system doesn't fit or they don't tailor it to him somewhat they will be disappointed. It took us a year or two to figure out how we needed to use him.

TH is and has been a 2 down back that doesn't block and isn't a threat in the passing game so if they can get a couple picks for him they should trade.

I would argue he's best suited for a power run game at this point. He's not as fast as he once was, that cut to hit the hole is getting stacked up now but at least some of that is o line play..... But his speed/quickness is part of it too.

I just think he's better suited to power run now, actually he would have benefited from it last year too.

I don’t disagree with that. Although it feels like they’ve made an effort to use him more in the passing game this year. But still, I’d prefer the picks

What does that even mean? Vrabel annoys me with his statements or lack thereof.

Like it’s actually Vrabel’s sole decision who gets traded at the end of the day?
I assume it’s Vrabel trying to downplay any suggestion that the team is “quitting” on the season. Even if that’s clearly the plan.

My comment is based on we are terrible at trading , we should trade Henry but we need to get something . We will squander the picks anyways

You aren't going to get much for a running back. If you get anything take it.
