The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I expect to see what Levis can do Sunday against the Falcons. Vrabel wanted and pushed for him. Hate to see Byard go but it's understandable. Sad that not one team has inquired about Henry. Not sure Vrabel will be around for the long rebuild that's ahead.
It will likely still be Willis at this point, presuming Tannehill is hurt and can’t play.

I know its not popular, but id like to see Willis, while actually giving him a chance to prepare and play as the starter.

Second, I want to see us spread things out for Willis, let him use one of his better attributes which are his legs.

On another note, with over $99 mil in open cap space next year, the Titans likely will be more active in free agency to the degree the way fans have always been clamoring for them to be.

…Unless they’re planning to spend it all on Tart, Audry, Molden, and Farley.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if Vrabel wouldnt mind having this guy back.

Willis isn't the future in Nashville imo. Vrabel pushed hard for Levis and its time to see what he can do in live action with the starters.
Except, you’re sort of missing a big factor /aspect here: Levis was hurt through a good chunk of the preseason/training camp.

What will likely happen is they’re not going to be switching to him until closer to the end of the year unless both Tannehill AND Willis get hurt before then.

(It’s more just the way it tends to go / be planned and played out by teams in the league at the professional level…even more so if a rookie is any degree of a project at all.)

We did that last year when Tannehill was hurt. And he hasn’t look any better after an entire offseason, playing in the preseason or against the Ravens.

Pre season he was playing with 3rd stringers it hard to judge.

Against the Ravens he came in late, it's hard to get in a rhythm when that happens.

Maybe he does still suck but just give him a chance before we totally write him off.

Wow, really? I’m shocked! I thought we would get a first round pick every year for the next decade…
You only have to go back to March 2023 in this thread to see examples of Titans fans speculating that you could trade Henry for a 1st round pick (and potentially additional picks too). That is fantasy land.

Well the tank is now officially on...probably need to find a suitor for Henry and Hopkins too. Doubt anyone offers anything for an injured Tannehill but he probably played his last down in London. Play Malik and Levis for 11 games so we know neither is the guy, finish 4-13 and draft a QB in 2024 I think is the way to go now.
Seriously doubt anyone is desperate enough for a QB to take on RT's salary.

In watching him end the game last week, I'm seeing no progression. He's a one read QB. He drifts in the pocket when it isn't needed and often finds himself moving toward pressure.

If the first read isn't there he looks to the defenders immediately and stops tracking his receivers. But instead of making a decision and sticking with it he often finds himself staring defenders down instead of making a move.

I think he's a good guy but he isn't it. I'm not even sure he's backup potential at this point.

See what you have the rest of the year in Levis if needed. You already have a body of work on Willis.

Watch Levis and his college highlights if you want to talk about a one read QB. At least Willis can move.

My dislike of him has nothing to do with him playing at Kentucky it's the fact that he was garbage at UK. He's another combine warrior that gets coaches and GM's fired.

I'm not saying he's better. I'm saying you have to get him reps to know what you've got.

But I will say he's definitely a QB that goes through progressions. He gambles too much and was careless with the football.

But let's remember we didn't even trust Willis with a forward pass last year............ He's progressed but that's like saying a wet fart is better than diarrhea....... They both suck

The other problem is, we won't really draft high enough to get a QB( I'm not in love with Maye or Williams anyways), so do we go FA and if so who do we get?

Roll with what you got, draft best player available build from the inside out both sides of the ball. Get your QB in the next couple of years..... Whether that is FA or draft. Too many needs to get tunnel vision and wasting picks year after year on qb's.

This, build from inside out

I expect there will be at least 75-80 rushing attempts by both Atlanta and Tennessee in this weekend's game and the field goal kickers will determine who wins.

Neither Smith nor Vrabel have shown that they will blow anybody out with their offensive philosophies.

I think after the byard trade we should trade Henry for a 2032 7th round pick and their water boy
If you can get anything and get rid of the contract why not? I mean he's a system running back that needs a power run offense...... We can't provide that and won't be able to until he's no longer an effective runner, maybe 1 to 2 years max is all he's got left.
