The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Not upset at all he played well. The idiotic play calling on the previous drive is what lost us the game.

The way Pittsburgh was after him all night I'm surprised there wasn't a pick or two way earlier in the game. He's fearless.

Long time reader, around 02 is when I started. When I see posts like yours is the only thing that truly pisses me off. Bad play calls on that drive? More like protecting a young QB. Will knows his checks and quicks, but O line is banged up and having a good D is why the calls were what they were. Let me see you call the plays coach.

Eh, protect him sure, but run, run pass , especially from a bunched formation with a weak o line actually works against you from a protection point of view.

Spreading it out like they did on the last drive and keeping a tight end or running back in to help chip and block gave him enough time.

Levis played well on that last drive, he was pushing it because he had to. High risk high reward. The play sequence from the previous drive was classic Tannehill Titans type drive with similar results.

I didn't hate it but it was ultra conservative and only put more pressure on Levis on the next drive. He handled it well though.

Scored 16 for the 3rd time this season. Same result. FGs over TDs. But yeah, the FGs were a bit shorter this week.
Offensive yardage was better, defense was not.

They were dedicated to stopping Henry and our line issues made that easier. But we moved the ball which is something we've struggled to do this year.

I thought Levis did outstanding for his 2nd start on the road in a hostile enviorment. He made several throws that Tannehill doesn't. He seems to have a connection with Hopkins who I had just written off as another Titans free agent receiving bust.

I can't fault him for the INT as time wasn't on there side and really no where to go with the ball with Hop getting double teamed and Burks out.

I thought the coaches took the game out of Levis hand when they called a run on 3rd down close to midfield with around 3 or minutes left.

A very disappointing result that the Steelers slightly outplayed the Titans to win a competitive entertaining game because it was a very realistic chance for the Titans to win 2 consecutive games for the first time this season.

Levis is going to have the normal growing pains, however he does give the Titans a very realistic chance of winning, and based off of 2 regular season games likely he is a great thrower since he can be successful with a variety of throw’s including long throws.

I’m hopeful the Titans offense with Levis can improve to consistent good which would be scoring touchdowns in consecutive games.

He did play a great game for what was only his second start, and his first road game in the NFL.

He’s going to have growing pains so him throwing an interception while disappointing because it happened at the worst time isn’t a glaring flaw.

After two games of Vrabel with Levis starting, I see two paths.

Vrabel wants to non chalantly tank this year and get a top 10 pick so we can trade it for a big haul in exchange + the near $100m cap space

OR

Vrabel is on his way out on his own terms and knows it and will be bidding for another job. Everyone would speculate New England but I don’t think Billy B is retiring until he gets the wins record.
