The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Trying to anchor an o line with a 270# center against 330+# interior D linemen is pure malpractice.

At this point you're just putting wear on a valuable asset in impossible situations. Just put Willis in and run the season. We are that bad. Time to be honest, no retooling, we need a complete rebuild around Simmons, Spears, Levis and Skroranski. Everyone else on the roster is just a guy in a jersey, a role player........ We have way too many of those.

Edit to add: Hopkins is still very good, but by the time we get the complementary cast needed, he's done.

How demoralizing must it feel as a defense that when the other team scores 20pts or more you have no shot to win because of the awful offense.

Roster needs so much work it’s honestly too depressing to think about it. All we can really do now is just kind of hope Levis is the answer, but the optimism from the first game has depleted.

Reserved my premier seats for the new stadium today. At my age and almost 50 sitting outside in cold and rain was no dice but this new stadium will be covered and nice.

Just pointing out, again, that the declaration of Levis as the answer was premature after 1 game. Hope he is, of course.
Most were urging cautious optimism.

He's just fine right now. He wasn't the problem today. It's too much to ask a rookie to overcome so many deficiencies.

My comments were regarding this season’s offense.
Right, and I originally pointed out that Tannehill is reluctant to throw the ball at times, he takes sacks he shouldn't. Levis took one today that he could have avoided. When I transpose our o line performance with Tannehill behind center I see more sacks.

The bucks d line is big and athletic......a problem for our undersized anchor and otherwise porous o line. Tannehill isn't as fast and twitchy as Levis, he's got a long delivery.... To say he would have taken more sacks today isn't a stretch.

Well, everyone saying the offense is better/looks better with Levis. Under 50% completion, 4 sacks, 6 points, and 1 pick today. Roughly the same last week.

Levis was going to have struggles this season if he was forced to come in and start, any rookie QB would in his situation. He’s playing behind what’s possibly the worst offensive line in the NFL with a group of WR’s that only has one real threat on it. I’m not guaranteeing Levis is the answer, but overall I like what I’ve seen from him so far and I think with enough pieces around him in the future he’ll have the ability to succeed.

Yeah, to me this season is now only about seeing his development and if he can lead us to a win or two in close games.
