The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Bears and Saints both winning right now. That combined with us losing should guarantee us a top 10 pick.

Giants aren't going to do us any favors today. Hopefully the Patriots and Chargers do.
I thought we were already guaranteed a top 9 pick after last week...

that was really bad........he might be playing in the UFL in March he keeps that up.
This dudes nickname is drum...... Cause all he does is get beat. He's not even a backup caliber left tackle in this league...... We look like fools for signing him.

Vrabel needs to improve the roster obviously..... But at this point he needs to give up control of the offense and get some talented offensive guys on his coaching staff. Promoting from within at this point is just scraping the bottom of a pan that's already been picked clean.

We could’ve won 7. So all 8 of these teams had less than 7 before the bears won today.

Patriots
Jets
Chargers
Cardinals
Giants
Commanders
Bears
Panthers

And then you had a lot of 7 win teams (not certain we would’ve been the highest pick out of all of them)

Vikings
Packers
Falcons
Saints (they just own 8 today)
Broncos
Raiders

It’s possible we would’ve had the highest pick in that group if we all had 7, but I’d say unlikely.

I don’t think improving the roster is on Vrabel. Otherwise I’d join the “fire Vrabel” crowd

I didn't intend to put that all on him, in reading it back I can see how done would take it that way. What I meant was the problems Vrabel has to overcome/ the path to get right. Is improve roster first and foremost but I think getting more talent on his offensive staff is a must. Players aren't developing.

Is Levis going to be made of glass? At least RT is tough.
I think it’s more they sent out a QB with a leg/foot injury (that had been upgraded from “definitely out” to “questionable” this week) to go back behind a line that’s given up the 3rd-4th most sacks in the league, against a team that had six sacks when they played them 2 weeks ago…what exactly did they think would happen?

So if Tankathon is correct, then the Titans are likely stuck at the 7th pick unless:

(1) The Giants win next week

(2) The Chargers win today or next week

(3) The Cardinals win next week.

(Presuming Tennessee loses to Jacksonville next week)

Surely one of those 4 things can happen.

Since I go to all home games, very thankful the last game is Sunday at noon and was not flexed. Bittersweet this may be last time to cheer for Henry as a Titan.

So many thoughts/questions:

I thought Vrabel had input on the GM hire since the narrative was he wanted the last guy fired after trading AJ and getting it eventually? Not saying I think Carthon is any good but thought Vrabel was part of the selection process in order to appease him. Wasn’t that the “reporting?”

This says it’s a forced marriage that involved the league (wtf)?

Arthur Smith to develop Levis? Into what, Desmond Ridder? His only offensive success has been with an experienced QB. The ATL offense is a disaster and has actual weapons.

Vrabel has earned Sean Payton level control? What organizations have really succeeded with a coach as GM or selecting the GM model? Honest question.

I love all the qualifiers included in these. Either report or speculate to drive views. Don’t do both sports “reporters.”
