I was a hopeful Levis supporter coming into the season. I can forgive week 1 as feeling out a new system and Chicago's defense legitimately looking like an elite unit. There seems to be some die hard Levis supporters......wonder how many of them are Kentucky fans or are just not wanting to give the Vols fans the I told you so?
Eh…game stat lines like the 14 for 23 for 99 yards 2 INTs 4 sacks that he was giving here weren’t much better than the mess of a product currently gotten on the field now (or the 5 for 16 for 80 yards 3 sacks or the 6 for 10 for 55 yards 1 INT 3 sacks)…especially comparing the two offensive lines.I wish he was our starter right now.
Possible.Could do the bridge QB thing in to 2025. Sam Darnold or Jimmy G would be options. Maybe Gardner or Geno Smith if their teams move on from them after the season.
We aren't the first OL in the NFL. Granted we aren't good, but we aren't the worst.I think some of y'all are writing Levis off a little too early, remember the dude has only started 11 games and plays behind the worst OL in the NFL. I know we all want a CJ Stroud who kills it from the jump but that rarely happens. Let's see how the coaches develop him.
I'm not writing him off but there is a wide Gulf between good college QB and good NFL QB. And the problem with Levis is while he has some good traits he has done very bad ones too.I think some of y'all are writing Levis off a little too early, remember the dude has only started 11 games and plays behind the worst OL in the NFL. I'm sure people said the same thing about Peyton Manning and Josh Allen after as many starts. The Patriots drafted a QB top 5 and aren't even playing him. Jordan Love sat on the bench for like 3 years. It takes time. All I'm saying.I'm not writing him off but there is a wide Gulf between good college QB and good NFL QB. He struggles to find/read open receivers in his offense on the short to intermediate throws, this allows defenses to apply even more pressure to a young inexperienced o line.
His best ball is low percentage long throw, which he often misreads throwing into double coverage
His best attribute is his ability to scramble for yardage when he doesn't make reads or the o line just breaks down but he isn't very good at, or accurate when extending plays with his legs in the passing game.
He is young and developing but he isn't looking like a franchise QB to this point. He's not processing his open receivers and hitting them in a timely manner, the timing is completely off and you can tell by our receivers body language it is frustrating them because the plays are there.
