The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

They better completely overhaul this franchise before they move to the new stadium
I mean…they pretty much just blew everything up already at the end of last season.

You know how angry fans of some teams say “burn it all down and start over”? Well, I mean, this is that; this is what’s in the immediate aftermath when that’s done.

This team’s been in for a long (and potentially slower) rebuild since before this year’s season started…and with how bad things were and still are, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a 2 or more year one.

He should. Ran has to go bc this is his roster.
He’s the one that didn’t address the OL. He’s in over his head

Does he? He drafted a rookie LT? Signed a center. He addressed the offensive line.

Here’s my real objection….didnt we want him to tear the whole thing down after last season and rebuild?

If so, shouldn’t we give him time to do that?

He did address the OL. You can't go from worst OL in the league to a good one in 1 off season. We got one side sured up, have to fix the other side next. This is not his roster. He did not trade AJB for Burks. We can't just start firing people after 1 season. Then we become the Jets, Browns, etc. Let it play out.

Drafted a OT first round. Signed the best C in free agency. Also signed another G who decided to retire before the season started. But somehow didn't address the OL....

I am not necessarily a Ran supporter, but if you're gonna bash him, the least you can do is be objective in your bashing. Levis is extremely slow at processing and holds the ball too long, which is his pressure to sack ratio is about 4 times higher than Mason Rudolf's behind the same OL. Not all of the issues are on the OL.

There should be some decent FA/trade options at QB this off-season.

A-Rod does have a house in Franklin for what it's worth and he won't be nearly as in demand as he would have been in year's past. That being said, I don't think he comes here. I think he goes across town to the Giants or goes to Las Vegas.

Sam Darnold will probably be looking at a decent sized bag after a very good 2024. Not sure I want to hand out a fat bag to a a guy that was available for dirt cheap a few months ago. But a Baker Mayfield type of contract wouldn't be terrible, and would give us an out if he turns back into a pumpkin.

I think Matt Stafford is probably cut this off-season. And he seems to make the most sense for us if we could convince him to play for a rebuilding franchise.

Justin Fields brings youth and promise from his performance this year, but it was a small sample size and I don't know that he is a good fit for what Callahan wants to do offensively.

Geno likely is cut too. He's a solid, reliable vet and shouldn't cost a ton. He makes a lot of sense too.

Finally, I think the Falcons trade Cousins. He is only 27.5 million in dead cap if they trade him before June 1 and 12.5 million after June 1. He would be a good bridge QB for 1 season.

Callahan has not looked very good IMO. Most coaches aren’t one and done but I could see him being one of the ones that is

What’s gotten better? Line still suspect, QB not seeing the field and taking sacks, special teams waaay worse, penalties everywhere (2nd in NFL), low turnovers forced (-11 net, 2nd from bottom). Bottom ten on most meaningful rankings.

Defense has been serviceable at times and the running game has been on par with the league average.

Lost a game at home late season against an equally bad opponent down their starting QB.

Not impressed at all so far. I just don't know how much he has Levis being pushed down on him to use. Rudolph probably could have won them a couple more games, but does that actually help? O play calling sucks at times. ST sucks most of the time. Everything system wise is disjointed.

Special times are horrible. Which is saying something considering that the field goal kicker doesn't miss, and the punter can boom them.

Watch in the offseason what happens with FA signings. Given equivalent options the better FA's will not sign with the Titans if they do not believe in the QB and coaching staff. The tone of the communications in the press I am reading is they will be shopping hard for a proven FA QB. If successful, that could help turn this mess around or at least reveal the level of competency of the coaching staff.

Starts and ends with the QB. Titans will see a QB today with a horrible Oline but Burrow actually knows how to avoid sacks and get rid of the ball.
