The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

In retrospect Amy should have fired the GM after the Panda first round drafter pick fiasco. He made so many bad top draft picks. Was at the game today and it's just hard to watch now. Guess Amy will be at Texas college play off game this weekend, then fly to see Titans at Colts.

“So many bad top draft picks”? I think you have the wrong GM in mind. And who do the Panda?

J Rob's run of first round pick blunders def set the team back, but the true issue was hiring Ran who has shown he is in so over his head simply because they settled on a nepo baby getting the head coaching gig who had zero to do with Burrow's development since he was essentially offensive coordinator in name only.

2019 gave J-Rob a lot of leeway. That was an all-time draft for us.

But 2020 was just about the opposite, as it was one of the worst of all time. Certainly after the 2021 draft produced nothing in year 1 and out 4th round pick didn't even make the roster out of camp, we clearly should have moved on from J-Rob. But we didn't, and then he traded away the best WR we've ever drafted.

I'm still confused why she green lit that trade.

2016 too (I think that was the Henry year). He had two of the best drafts in team histor

Listening to Callahans press conference today hard to see Levis starting again unless Rudolph gets hurt or sucks worse.

Is he having to use the media to plead to ownership to bench Levis?

If this is the case, he is gone at end of the season. Will probably even be relieved to be let go.

He got Calvin Ridley

Top 10 money for a guy turning 30 this week. Hasn't been above average in main advanced stats since 2020. Bulk of stats from past 4 years has been from a lot of inefficient targets and garbage time padding. Even the advanced stats that take out impact of QB play arent very friendly...

Much more of a 2 at this point in his career. Getting forced fed a lot of targets without the separation ability he had in 2019-2020. Combine that a low catchable ball % and bad QB play....

I dont absolutely hate this deal and you needed to get Levis enough weapons to form a proper evaluation on him. But this deal wasnt Ran's masterpiece either....

Time he got here he was a 2 with Hopkins. Those two with a serviceable QB has a better outlook for the season.

Nobody outside of a couple guys ever even talk to him on the sideline. He is so self absorbed he cannot relate.

If they are through embarrassing themselves as an org, it is time to move on. But if they need more time to self flagellate, they need to keep starting him. Because in fact, it is not just Levis that sucks at their jobs. They need to do the same thing with the rest of the posers and wannabes. As it has been posted - they now have two seasons to turn it around and capitalize on the new stadium.

Dont pay high end 1 money for a 2 in his age 30 season when you have holes all over your roster...
This is another glaring issue with Amy and Ran.... They see league top cap space situation as "we have to spend every dollar" instead of just prepping the roster/franchise for longer term.

These people are idiots

You 100% have to put talented guys at WR. Our WRs are terrible and would be worse without him.

Focusing on the idea that we paid too much is a waste of time. We paid what the market required for what we needed.

Titans had like 80 million in cap space this past offseason... They had to give it to someone.
And we can also cut him after 2025 for nothing. So he won't affect our ability to improve the roster once we find our QB of the future.

Something that gives me hope (but also fear), is that Ran has to know he's on the hot seat going into next year. The average NFL GM tenure is 3 years. So for Ran, it's **** or get off the pot. If he is smart, surely he realizes that a rookie QB with this roster is unlikely to win more than 6-7 games. So for that reason, I think we will be in the market for a good veteran QB, of which there should be plenty available.

OTOH, desperate GMs on the hot seat tend to make very poor decisions, like Reinfeldt reaching for a mediocre QB in Jake Locker. So that also worries me.

Exactly. Best available at the market rate for the position. Then move on to other weaknesses. The problem is there are so many other weaknesses.
