The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

And of course if we pick #5 as currently projected the top QBs will be gone. Maybe we'll get lucky

We are currently at 6, I believe. Regardless of where they’ve been in the top 10, most mocks have us taking the WR from Arizona.

There are only 2 QBs remotely worth a first round pick, Sanders and Ward. I’m not sold on them as worthy either.

What you are describing IS getting lucky. This year's QB crop is horrendous and it's highlighted by seniors who weren't good enough to be 1st round QBs a year ago, so they came back for another year so they could be 1st rounders in 2025.

I think this roster and coaching staff are so far away from being a playoff contender they should sign a FA transition QB - period. Need a guy who can game manage, not be a turnover machine, checks into better plays, hits what the D's give, etc. Do what they need to do to trade up if necessary to take the franchise QB in 2026. Use this draft to stock the roster with real players at positions of need. Until they do I do not see high end FA's wanting to be Titans.

This is another glaring issue with Amy and Ran.... They see league top cap space situation as "we have to spend every dollar" instead of just prepping the roster/franchise for longer term.

These people are idiots
But they didn't spend every dollar. Your takes rarely hit the target.

Carr (I think he gets cut), Geno, or trade for Cousins would be the most cost effective routes to give us a league average QB. The Rams could move on from Stafford, but given the NFC West is pretty wide open, they'll probably squeeze another year out of him.

There's no really good option at QB in this draft anyway, save Sanders, and that would be a disaster at most franchises. He has to get to the right spot.

Get a bridge QB and build the roster.
Sanders seems like such a natural fit for the Raiders and Vegas. I think he ends up there and goes number 1 overall. I could see Cam Ward going to the NYG at # 2 overall. I don't think another QB goes in the 1st round.

They spent like drunk sailors instead of padding the coffers for a draft and offseason where they can go all in just like the Dolphins did with the tank for Tua.

They didn't have to max out the cap card to sabotage future free agency / draft periods.

You must be the burner account of Ran or Amy

You must be a very new Titan fan if you think the current regime can be trusted to do exactly this when they failed miserably at the chance to do so just 2 drafts ago when they had a bridge QB on an expiring deal and needs for skill positions that they wanted trading up to draft a QB in name only.....

All while leading to the coach to get fired because the GM and Owner said he was playing an extinct brand of ball

A GM is going to spend cap to attempt to compete. It's their job. They didn't spend like drunken sailors.......your hyperbole is off the charts.

The Dolphins aren't in a good spot at all. They spent like drunken sailors and have maxed out what that team can accomplish as it's currently set up with cap hell on the horizon. Poor example.

They haven't maxed out the cap card and they haven't sabotaged future free agent and draft periods...... Again another example of your hyperbolic statements.

To the last part yet another example of you missing the mark with your takes.

No one could have predicted that Tua would be a chronic walking concussion and that "injury" has been a weight on the Dolphins franchise....

The difference is literally everyone that wasn't drunk on the kool aid could see that Levis was a horrible prospect and there were obvious reasons that he fell from top 10 projected by the "experts" to the second round.....

Even Stevie Wonder could see that Levis was a draft pick that only a insane or someone in over their head would make... I don't think Ran is insane, but there is no reason at all that he should have ever been considered for a GM position at all. Its been a flaming pile of dog crap since he walked into the front office.

Outside of a freak run in of reoccurring concussions, there were no major issues or problems with how Ross ran the Dolphins... There were glaring signs that the combo of Ran / Amy would only slide the franchise in the pits of the NFL after running off the second most successful coach in team history and signing off on a series of dumbass draft picks and trades that J Rob did.

They got value....... It's what good GM's do when they can. It didn't work out...... Just as it doesn't most of the time for other franchises drafting QBs.

Acting like this is uncharted territory is just silly, and makes it appear as if you are the one just now discovering this NFL thing..... Not me.

I don't know that Ran can get it done. Honestly, its a crap shoot anyway and why the league plays revolving door with GM's all the time. If he's not successful there's a good chance it wasn't really even his fault per se. And he could go on to have great success elsewhere........or he might not.

Vrabel was fired because he wouldn't give up the reigns and let someone with any degree of competency run the offense for him.......... And add in that his defenses got a little worse and void of talent each year but he wanted more control over the roster......... That's what got him fired...... That and two bad seasons.

Dude, quit with the hyperbole........ It discredits everything, literally every position and take you have.......... It's like talking with my 18 year old daughter when she's worked up about something..

Truth on both sides here. They paid well over FMV for Cush, Pollard, and Ridley. Part of the reason they have holes all over the roster is they overpaid for those 3.

They didnt spend everything and didnt put themselves in huge future financial constraints by the time they will be able to field a team that can compete at a level that can win playoff games (26 or 27).

They knew the division was weak and they tried to do this tightrope between competing and not going all in for 24 and 25 to kick the financial can down the road. Going all in to go 8-9 or 7-10 was stupid. The guys they signed didnt live up to paychecks, the guys drafted the past 2 yrs didnt live up to draft spot, Levis didnt take a step forward, and the coaching staff has huge question marks.

It's not all on Ran but the way some want to absolve him for any and everything is similar to how some in our fanbase was with Pruitt. Don't put a pile off shat under my nose and tell me its a bouquet of roses.

No offense, Tua was brittle at Bama and was brittle on the rookie contract. He barely got hit at Bama but when he did, he got hurt....

This team has been in an endless suck cycle forever.......lose games to get draft picks that you spend on absolute busts to win enough meaningless games to get worse draft picks which you repeat with more busts to lose games to get high pick which you will pick busts. I may never be a true fan of the pro level. Seems like your team is gonna tank when they cant get into the playoffs. How about just try to win every damn game you play so your fans dont lose interest.
