The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

But all of those players have a history of playing at a high level.

And PFF, while useful, is hardly the holy grail of football stats. There is a lot of missing information in their analysis that they simply can never know. An OL will often get blamed for giving up a sack on a play where the QB holds the ball too long. And Winston is notorious for holding the ball too long.

PFF isnt the end all, be all but it's a pretty good eye test validation point...

For the players you highlighted, only 1 of the 4 was expected to be decent in 2024.

Chubb was in age 29 season coming off a career killer injury

Willis has been a first round, top 10 bust coming into 2024. He continued to play that way

Ifedi has been first round replacement level player bust most of his career. Been cut 5x. Shouldnt be shocked he played like a player that should be cut.

Dawand James showed promise as a rookie playing at a backup level. He is the only one of the 4 that disappointed expectations. He was garbage this year before getting hurt...

I saw former Vol Reggie McKenzie is also a candidate we are looking at. That would certainly be an interesting choice. He put together some very talented teams in Oakland, though they didn't win very much.
Yeah but he has experience dealing with a psycho owner. So that may help him here

Saying they have a much better roster than ours does not equate to saying they are in a better situation. The Watson deal prevents them from doing very much. But outside of QB, they put together a very good roster the last few years and a much better overall roster than ours.

People want to roast them for trading Mayfield away, but he had a poor attitude and wasn't well liked in the organization. You can act that way when you're Aaron Rodgers and playing at an MVP level. But when you're playing like a league average QB, that schtick gets old really quick.

Honestly, I think Mayfield getting traded and eventually cut humbled him a lot, and allowed him to get out of his own way.
Given how Watson turned out for Cleveland vs Baker's averages, you could say that they would have been better off sticking with Baker and using that trade capital to improve the roster AND cap situation
