The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

PFF rates Marcus as 7th best QB.

This here’s a brain teaser.

He probably is but it's to big of a risk to take imo. Put Cassell in and run the damn ball. Our D was playing great. Mariotta hurts that knee worse then our season is completely shot. Hell keeping Mariotta in may be what cost us the game today.

They were killing us with that run blitz. Tackling us 3 yards in the back field. If Cassel was in we still lose. We were going to lose that game either way.

My guess is we'll go into the last game with the division on the line and we'll lay an egg at home, but that's assuming we win next week. If we lose at SF (and I already think we'll lose at LA), the division may already be wrapped up by Jax.

If we lose either it pretty much wraps it up for Jax before the last game.

I’ve been thinking about what people were saying about AAS being a fan of Mularkey and possibly sticking with him no matter what. If that happens, I imagine there will be some sort of conflict with Jon Robinson. If he ends up leaving because AAS won’t fire Mularkey, I may be tempted to follow him to his new team.

Together the Vols and Titans offense put up a total of 50 points all year long.

Where did you get this stat? Titans alone probably have 10+ rushing TDs

*Edit just looked and the Titans have had 16 rushing TDs and 29 passing TDs which averages out to 3.5 TDs a game. Vols had 11 passing TDs and 14 rushing. Or a measly 2.08 per game. Over half of our total TDs were in the 1st 3 games....looking back out our offensive stats is depressing haha

I know Mularkey wants to stay plain vanilla in his answers to press questions - but his answers are just mind numbingly dumb. Not using Henry in the second half sucks. Henry is one snap from housing a run or pass. Don't be acting like there was no intent to leave him out of the action. There was. You want to get your money's worth from Murray, who is one snap from falling over his own feet this season. Also, Henry has more rushing yards in less carries with a much larger yards per carry. He also gets more yards per catch when you actually throw to him. Disgusted with stupid personnel use decisions. Too much Butch in him.

If MM strained his knee in the first half like Mike said - he should not have been in there. Another one - making excuses for WR's that do not do what they should is stupid. They are well paid professionals. Run routes correctly or do not play or throw the ball to them. Finally, your O-line has been stinking these past few games, Mike. Could it be that your dumb offensive scheme is telegraphing nearly every play?

I see them being one game out of the playoffs again unless some serious changes are made.

The Titans are going to continue to be an underachieving mess until we have a real coaching staff. Especially the offense.

Ditch our AARP staff and make upgrades on defense over the next couple offseasons and the Titans are legitimate contenders by the 2019 season. But if Mularkey is still on the sidelines in 2019 than ****em all.

I agree with this but I will say outside of the first game against the Texans, I’ve thought the defense has been solid. Not great but solid

To be fair, they’ve benefited a lot from playing backup quarterbacks. Also, I’ll believe they can stop a team with good QB play when I see it.

Mariota probably would have been an MVP candidate if McVay was on the sidelines.

So if Titans beat San Fran on Sunday, do they clinch a wildcard spot?

Not quite.

We would need a bunch of the teams in the hunt to lose to give us a 99% chance. Even then if we lose the final two and all the close teams win their games we would absolutely be out of the playoffs.
