The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

dunno....this was his draft this year.

Round 1, pick 29: Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia

Round 2, pick 61: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

Round 3, pick 93: Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State

Round 5, pick 174: Larrell Murchison, DT, NC State

Round 7, pick 224 (from Browns): Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii

Round 7, pick 243: Chris Jackson, S, Marshall

such a terrible draft.

and dont even get me started on his free agent picks this year...
I wasn't a fan of the draft at all this year... Murchison was his best pick. I'll give him a pass at cb because we weren't in the position to get the quality we needed. Plus he still needs another year before we know what we have for sure.

10-6 would be in the playoffs safely one would assume. Just get in the tournament.
Eh, early exit. I'd honestly rather miss the playoffs and pick up some better pieces in the draft. Those 4 to 8 spots in draft order make a difference, we need help, we didn't get what we needed last year.

No offense but I am sure you said the same thing last year before the playoffs. Give me losing in the playoffs every time over draft position. You only get so many chances.

The last 10 years where we had great draft positions did not do us any favors in regards to winning.

We caught lightening in a bottle on offense and had a solid defense. The offense played off the defensive strength. We don't have that this year, nothing even close, in fact we have one of the worst kicking games and defenses in the league. Last year we are able to overcome the kicking game issue which was considered an anomaly. No way we can overcome defeciencies in two of the three facets of the game.

We played a very soft schedule overall to this point which gave us some hope. Blue with a larger sample size we have a better idea who we are. You're correct the window doesn't stay open long, shorter when you make mistakes with personnel. Would you rather make the playoffs and bounce early or her the pieces you need?

While I don't advocate for tanking it would be better to pick toward the middle than no man's land toward the end. Especially when you're as defecient as we are on defense and special teams.

I felt better last year about where we were. We have nothing on defense. Maybe it will get better when Adoree is back but I just don't see one player making that much difference. The defense is historically bad..... And poorly coached.

Aside from being a top 10 QB for more than a season's worth of games now yeah he sucks.
He doesn’t suck, but the Titans could be so much better. He’s afforded one of the best, lowest pressure offenses in the league. If Rivers, for example, were on this team? He doesn’t have near the offensive weapons and yet racked up numbers. The Titans didn’t even score in the 2nd half.

He has weapons in the same league as ours, maybe even better. He certainly has one weapon that the Titans don't, a defense.

On a positive note lost in everything else of last night's game was that Clowney had his best game as a Titan.
You know what's sad? We lost a more productive player than either Clowney or Beasley because they were taking his snaps. The more I think about the blatant mismanagement if this team the angrier it makes me.

You talking about Correa? 🤣😂 You can't be serious.

He's absolutely better than Beasley, you can't even make any argument to the contrary..... Go ahead try.

As for Clowney an argument could be made but I agree Clowney is a little better, but not by much.

LOL, I didn't even think of Beasley. However the stats don't back up Correa being as good as Clowney even though Clowney has been mediocre up until Thursday night.

Correa has played in 6 games this season and only has 6 tackles. 3 solo. He's not exactly lighting things up on the Jags defense.

Clowney in 8 games has 17 tackles. 12 solo.

He didn't get any playing time. There isn't a huge difference between them as players.

What is wrong with the Titans is what resides between the ears of the HC. J-Rob needs to have a talk and a real DC needs to be named or this season will go down in flames. The Colts are giving up a TD less per game than our guys. We suck on D. No 3 and outs. We give up nearly 400 yards of O per game. Lead in turnover difference (which the O being safe with the ball helps), but it doesn't matter when you can't get off the field all of the rest of the time.

So with Brett Kern still on IR we released Ryan Allen and seem to be keeping Trevor on the roster. I really question what Vrabel and J-Rob are doing here.

Vrabel said that the decision to switch punters for the Indianapolis game was based on performance in practice leading up to that contest. He also pointed to Daniel’s hang time as consistently superior to Allen’s.

Titans Release One of Their Two Punters

I don't think it is the end of the world to keep Daniel after 1 bad punt. Why the media continues to hang the block on him is beyond me - dude whiffed the block completely. His 3rd punt was 47 yards with no return.
