The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Seeing as Arizona has long been my favorite NFC team, I consider myself knowledgeable about s***ty ownership. And the way I see it, professional sports ownership is a much more complex business than people give it credit for. There is so much that goes into being a successful franchise, but probably 80% of it is luck.

I fully believe that 27 or so of the league's 32 owners truly do want their teams to be successful, and probably would be if they ever found the right combination of GM/Coach/QB. The others (like Spanos, Brown, Bidwill, etc.) are mostly just in it to sell tickets and rake in ad/tv revenue. For whatever faults she has, I truly believe Amy Strunk falls in the former category. She has made some decisions that did not turn out well in hindsight, but that's life. I also think she is far less of a cheapskate and in some ways (like the VY draft pick) less meddlesome than her father was.

There's no two ways around the fact that the Titans current situation is pretty bleak, but unlike a handful of other franchises, I do not believe the owner is an obstacle to getting it turned around.

I've been pretty adamant that we should avoid a QB this year but I heard a segment on Nashville sports radio that has made me rethink.

Apparently the Manning family wants the young QB to stay in the TX system for development and do not plan for him to come out for next year's draft. They expressed that Nico may not come out or be ready either.

That may make next year's draft a lot less talented at the QB position. Sanders is no doubt the best QB in this draft. The only other option would be to pick up a veteran guy you think is serviceable or could be good within your system.

Levis has this year to prove he can put it together. I funny think he will or can but the GM has done decisions to make.

Don't want a QB in this draft. Continue the Levis experiment this season and tank.

Want a starting quality veteran FA QB as they transition the team after this season. Draft a quality QB in '26.

It's a tough decision. Personally I'm of the opinion if you have a top 3 pick and need a QB you almost have to take one. The payoff if successful can completely change the direction of the franchise (Texans, Redskins recently) also you never know what can happen next year there's a chance Levis improves enough to get us in the 9-15 pick range and QB is off the table. That's where we usually sit and that's how we got here.

I’m open to a QB in the 2nd or 3rd. But honestly, I’d prefer we keep drafting other positions, start Levis again if we can find a cheap veteran move we like (Russel Wilson and Fields last year, or Baker Mayfield prior to that kinda move).

Then take your pick of QBs in 2026
