But then I remembered that the Vols have been suspect to the run this year. And that Darby finally woke up this past weekend.

We win this one- but I think Darby gives us some trouble. Closer game than you might think.

28-21 Vols.

Darby may be back but remember - Ole Miss is ranked 98th in rush defense.

I'm with all the pessimists. It's gonna be a slobber-knocker and it's gonna be close. We better "strap it on" and come ready to play. Maybe the BS-BCS rankings will work in our favor to help us keep the chip on our shoulder!

We are literally limping up to Knoxville with very little confidence. If we don't play better in all phases than we have all season it will not be a happy Saturday in Tide Land!

What's the injury report? During the game it looked like Brown, Hall, Johns and Wilson all had some injuries.

i've been on the conservative side of the ball all year, but this game, after a bye, get rested, and healthy...and two weeks for Cut to prep....we come home and had time to put the big win vs. UGA behind us...so i dont' think there's a let down or anything....

i think the vols come out in business like fashion and win fairly easily.

UT--34
Bama--13

Hall(recurring shoulder injury) and Wilson(bruise) are fine and will play Saturday. Brown(knee sprain) and Johns(ankle sprain) are day to day and probable. We've been fortunate with a lack of injuries so far. Not a good time for them to start up. Ouch!

On emotion,Bama hangs with us the first half :UT14-Bama10 at the half, then Ainge,Meach and company proceed to have a career days and hang 28 more on the Tide. Our D shuts Darby down in the second half. Final score 42-10.

Hello Vol Nation! Just read all the post and I agree it should be close inpart to what this game means to both teams. You guys are looking tough, and are tough, but I think if we can put it together a little bit better than we could give you a good game. You never know really when any SEC teams get together nowadays. I just want to say that I appreciate a majority of the way you all post, and this seems to be a pretty classy place even for a BAMA fan! LOL! ;)

I could see 35-14, but no way we drop 45+.

I bet you never thought we would hang 50+ on GA either.

Tennessee - 41

Bama - 17

Ainge - 290 yds, 3 TDs

Meachem - 130 yds., 2 TDs

Coker - 145 yds., 2 TDs

Bama ain't gonna even see it coming....this one will seal Mike Shula's fate.

i like our position coming off the bye...everyone gets the UGA game out of their system, so no let down, and we get a few guys healthy...in reading govolsxtra, swain is expected to be ok to play...I think Bama is banged up a little bit right now, and the offense hasn't really clicked yet.

big concern for me...DJ Hall is a burner and if caught in the right situation, he can give them a big play. Darby is a good back, and our D has made good backs look great at times.

But, in the end, i think we are able to get up on 'em a little bit early on, and force them out of the ground control gameplan and force more throwing than they'd like.

Key for us is start fast, finish strong....as always, turnovers can't happen, and keep us in 2nd and 3rd and short, and we win. If Bama has success against us on D on 1st down...that's their best chance.

I've been on the conservative side of the ball the past few weeks in making predictions, and i don't think this will be a complete blow out, but i do think UT wins this in the end fairly easily.

Vols--31
Bama--13

rivalry game, which means throw stats and ranks out the door. but im gonna have to say, that Meach and Ainge are gonna light it up, and one of our 200 Bad Arse running backs will tear it up, Hefney-2 picks in the game, count on it, UT 41 alabama-14. DJ Hall- non factor by end of 2nd, johnparkerwilliamrobertrickybartgunther wilson sacked 4 times, hit God knows how many, hurried, a Sh-t load, Alabamas offensive line will look like the french when they were invaded by germany,

In all honesty i'm a bit worried about the off week we may come out rusty (god i hope not) :crossfingers:
but even still i dont think Bama has enough to make it into the 4th
i say bama keeps it close in the 1st and then we start clicking in the 2nd final UT 45 bama 10
but, a part of me that hates the BCS & Bama wants the Vols to put as many points on them as they can. style points count so heres hoping for another 50 spot:)

I wish. I think this is going to be a tough, close game. And I have nightmares of Ken Darby having a breakout game and running on our D like DeShawn Wynn, Kregg Lumpkin (mostly in 1st half) and Air Force did. If our defense can get off the field and stop Bama on 3rd downs, we should be in good shape.

I'm thinking that John Parker Wilson has never even seen anything like Neyland Stadium. The crowd will be a huge factor he will be rattled and i'm looking for at least 2 HUGE turnovers in the 1st.
i hope our D comes out w/ a huge mad on and destroys everything in sight. in the ole miss game BS had recievers running wide open but couldent find them Ainge will find them. I think Foster & Coker put up huge numbers on bama at least 100 a piece. That being the case i guess that could only lead to Swain & meachum & Ainge putting up huge numbers as well. Bamas LB's are the weak link in their D not good for them as our O-Line has been playing lights out since UF. But we will see.

My $0.02:

I've seen too many games in this series to rely on records, rank & statistics. This one could come down to the wire. Darby looked better than I've seen him all year vs. Ole Miss and our D-Line hasn't exactly been lights-out this season. Ole Miss ran a little bit on Bama, (FWIW, Ole Miss played their best game of the season last Saturday, IMO), but again, our O-Line hasn't been great...but we are getting better.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be cheering so loud for UT that you'll be able to hear me in your living room -- but I think this game will be decided by less than 7 points.
