The Official Tennessee vs Clemson Regional Game Thread (Sat. 6/3 6PM EST ESPN2)

I was at a little party / game was on tele but sound off, we weren't really watching (unfortunately) so we really had no idea what was going on -- you All must have been on the edge of your seats -- Wowww

Thanks for this. I was running an errand when Tennessee scored their first home run. I then watched until it all fell apart and Clemson took the 4-1 lead. I got nervous so turned the game off and proceeded to do more errands around the house. Checked here, watched the messages go by as we took the 5-4 lead. Thought about turning back on the TV but did not want to jinx the team ... so watched from the messages. At one point when the bases were loaded with no outs, I thought that was it, stopped watching the messages. Came back later to look for the game thread against Charlotte - it was nowhere to be found - checked this and realized the game was still going on. Really thought about turning the game back on but fought the urge.

Not a nega Vol at all - just weak at heart and a believer is not changing what I am doing when the Vols are winning.

Have we ever had a bigger clutch HR than Zane Denton's ????

It reminded me of Dave Henderson of the Red Sox against the Angels in the 1986 ALCS. On the road ... Top of the 9th ... Behind 2 runs with 2 men on ... 2 outs and 2 strikes ... BOOM!

Incredible.

It’s top 5 for sure. The only reason I give Gilbert the top spot is because it was the game winner that sent us to the next round.

Dickey's reaction to Maui scoring the winning run was calmer than I would have expected from him.

I'm gonna try to not read more into it than I should. He was ready to congratulate Ahuna but then Ahuna was engrossed in his celebration. I'm gonna roll with that and look forward to tonight.

Is this a sloping warning track ? What is the purpose? From the highlights, it looks like 2 fielders fell because of it.

They said on the broadcast that the slope is much shorter than it used to be because they moved the fences in. Also, the reason for the slope is because apparently they didn’t like the look of the traditional warning track. Seems like brilliant decision making.

May need to go with Charlie Taylor today. Thoughts?
yeah, and that would be a NO!

Stark has been gunning down runners left and right the last month and his defense behind the plate is top notch. There are 2 positions in the field where you don't care if they don't hit well or not, Short Stop and Catcher. if they can hit, it's a bonus.

Ain't nothing like going back 37 years ago to find a game comparable to last night's.

I took it as Dickey understanding that the game wasn’t over and there was more work to be done.

Me too....And I get more nervous now than I did when I was in my 30s. I thought I'd mellow out with age......Nope!
I've found that this helps.

I love reading Mookie’s old posts after a game…

Hey, I admit I was dead wrong. 😂 Burns was a warrior last night. In the moment, I was concerned about burning one of our best arms with us staring down the barrel of an elimination game, but this is why I just post emotional over-reactionary thoughts from my couch and why I’m not a coach. Because I’m dumb.

Honestly, it would be better if I just banned myself from posting in game threads because I’m not built for the stress. I post whatever crazy thought comes into my head. Impulse control = Zero with TN sports….they always get me in my feelings.
