The Official Tennessee vs. Georgia State Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, ESPNU

Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Tennessee all lost today.

If Auburn loses tonight it will be one of the worst opening weeks in SEC history !!!

This is the second loss to a non power 5 conference . After the first one , Fulmer got fired w all his prior success . Pruitt w zero success has no reason to not be canned tonight . Fair is fair .

The English language is indeed too good, so one can only assume Fulmer wrote those for Pruitt

Fulmer got fired after losing to S Carolina

It's clear from this game that Pruitt is not the man for this program. It will take another 3 or so years and a buyout before those in power figure it out

In no way are South Carolina or Ole Miss's losses remotely comparable to ours. South Carolina lost to an ACC team. Ole Miss has been on probation for 3 years and has like 50 scholarship players and Memphis is generally a decent Group of 5 team. Georgia State had never beaten a Power 5 team. They were 2-10 last year. We paid them $ 950,000 for what they gave us today. This was a sacrificial lamb game, and the lamb got off the alter and sacrificed us. It's so disappointing, with it being our first game, we should have been chomping at the bit to play this game, we looked worse than I've ever seen us, and I'm pretty old. This has got to be the lowpoint.

Wish I didn't have tickets for next week. Maybe my attitude will improve as the week goes on but this team doesn't deserve a six hour drive out of me. This is embarrassing.
My grandson and I were going to go the BYU game next week. We just looked at tickets before the game and were going to pay 55 bucks for nose-bleed section. Now....I'm not sure 5 bucks is a win - win.

This is why there will be 70k there next week and nothing will change.

Basketball?
New poster. Long time lurker. First time poster... I had high expectations this year (7-5) (9-3. All is not lost. Problem is we showed up for a scrimmage. Pruitt said as much. "We are gonna play a lot of guys."Great idea to build depth as long as you win. Georgia State showed up to win the damn game and they brought it to us. I understand playing the long game but being a winning Poker player, you have to win the hand in front of you. I saw 2nd or 3rd string guys in there a lot during the game. That's fine as long as you win, preferably easy. We never took them seriously and thought we could "turn it up" when we needed to. Guarantano is a decent college quarterback but not the guy to will you to a win. Not his fault though. This "impressive on paper coaching staff" layed a serious egg and with their experience it is very disappointing."

Guys just know this:

Somewhere, a VOL fan went to the game, left the game depressed, came to the Vol Navy dock and is probably just now seeing his boat :(
