If HG can throw a screen pass I say roll with him. Look how bad JG is and he cant even read a defense and changes plays when there is no need in changing , not my words,Chaneys words. Ever ball JG throws almost has a chance to be a Int.

The Int for a Td has to be one of the worst throws I have ever seen by a Vol Qb and just about done us in.

I will say this in JGs defense (somewhat), the play calling wasn’t all that great and didn’t help him much. Chaney, while I like him, seems to have a hard time getting into the rhythm of a game. Maybe that’s different when an extremely competent qb, like Jake Fromm, is lined up behind center.

When we were on the GL I would have liked to have saw us pound the ball in. At the same time, the calls that were made were there. JG just missed them. I can’t give him a pass. We have to have a QB that can hit a open man 10 yards into the corner if we want to get to the next level. JG isn’t that.

He is pathetic, he has been bailed out all year throwing 50/50 balls. If my memory is right, the only pass he threw that actually hit a WR in stride was the pass to JJ against USCe other than that I dont remember one. He cant throw a screen pass. He is useless. How many passes in this game was high and fastballs , I know of 5 right off the top of my head and I am sure there is more. He threw 3 in the red zone on Tn final drive before Crouch scored.

All I see is the 2nd longest winning streak in the country going into the'20 season and a blue chip Fr QB coming in. I firmly believe we have a great QB room going into the spring with JG/HB/BM and the other 3. I would not think that if we were relying on just a true Fr HB and BM to lead us to wins in the SEC next year. Experience matters whether impatient fans believe it or not. If Bailey is better he'll play, if not it'll be JG and we'll have a chance to be successful with either one.

Maurer is a baller that is a pure aggressive passer like Farve. If we can get him to pull it back a little, he could be awesome. Chaney has his hands full.

Just stop with the last 6, only one of those teams had a winning record and Tenn struggled in all but 1 of those games. This offense probably avg 22-23 points a game. Defense is what won those games. They showed it on TV tonight that the defense was giving up 14 points a game in the 5-6 games

And even in the USCe game, Shrout is the guy that came in and shredded them. JG vs Manning, Shuler, Clausen, Dobbs, even Crompton his Senior year...he’s just not even close to these guys.

Crompton as a senior was Tom Brady compared to JG.

I’m far from a JG hater but I know he’s not the solution. He will never be better than 50/50. Unfortunately, I do believe he is the best we have. Mauer has talent but is more inconsistent than JG and tends to take far more risks which leads to turnovers. Shrout just doesn’t seem to have it either. I don’t think Pruitt stubbornly stuck with JG because he believes he’s an elite QB, he’s just playing the best card we have which unfortunately isn’t very good. Otherwise he wouldn’t have gone after BAiley. Pruitt has his eyes on the future with this new QB coming in, but right now we can only play with the cards we’ve been dealt.

Did you ever think that if JG even played average then the neverJGguys would never exist. It is true. You cannot call the Qb play tonight as anything but pathetic. Don’t talk to be about completing 18 passes because many of those were checkdowns which accomplished nothing. Evaluate his play by the number of passes in which he was off target and the hole it created for the football team which required a miraculous effort to win.

Playcalling looked worse than what it was because of JG’s lack of execution. We still missed a touchdown on the first series because JG misfired on two passes, one in the red zone.

I acknowledge JG has a nice statlline for the season. His rating @150 should be awesome, but he makes me feel like a hunted animal, even during the games we win.
