Again with name calling I'm a troll because I haven't drunk the koolaid and think that this was a really great team that beat Kennesaw by 9 points. Really. Because I say that this is a mediocre team I'm a troll. Will I promise you this, if this team beats KY and Alabama and goes to the sweet 16 or even wins 20 games and goes to the NCAA. I will be here to say I was wrong. I just don't believe that it is going to happen.

The game itself had a very bad flow to it, too many whistles. Add to that we were up 26, bad recipe for complacency to set in.

The good thing about basketball, each game that passes players start to gel more. Not having Maymon makes this team look very different, Stokes is a beast but only so much you can do when you are drawing defenders. He passed well tonight and still got some points. Kenny played good, but he is no Maymon. Hopefully Kenny can provide a good relief till Maymon gets back. I am not worried about Stokes at all.

I believe you are getting labeled as a troll, because that is all you do in these threads. You did it all last year and you are starting this year off with a bang. A+ for consistency though.

I'm with you. We will be just fine. Not like we're going to stop playing like that in a game that matters. But I'm big on finishing games, and you have to admit we didn't tonight, motivation or not.

My argument is only that this is not a special bb team that is going to win a national championship this year. They are mediocre at best and their performance tonight would seem to support that conclusion. Of course I could just say that all the people on this board who don't agree with me are stupid trolls, but than I would be lowering myself to their level. And I just won't do that.

Saying a team should go to a Sweet 16 is dumb since the NCAAT is a crapshoot and all about matchups.

This team will win 20 and comepete with every team in the SEC.

I said last year that we had a mediocre bb team and that Martin is a mediocre coach. I don't believe we made the tournment last year did we? Seems like I remember we just make it past the first round of the NIT. Hmmm just who is a troll and who has a realistic view of our basketball program.

If anyone was thinking this team was going to be a National Championship team this year needs to get their head checked. I would expect this team to be a tourney team, hopefully making it into the 3rd round, anything past that would be going well above and beyond.

People are not agreeing with you because your reactions are very premature.

Nevermind finishing 2nd in the SEC and showing vast improvement over the 2nd half of the season. But obviously, there was no coaching involved.

What was out team picked to finish in the SEC and where did we end up finishing? Sounds like you have an agenda against our coach, eerily similar to last year....

That was hyperbole. My point being that at the start of every year everyone jumps on the bandwagon thinking that this is the year that is going to be great and by the end of the third or forth year they are calling for the coach to drawn and quartered. Just like when UT hired Dooley I said he did not have the resume for this job, but on the message boards everyone was talking about how great he was. And how bright the future was and now they are calling for his head.
I just am unable to live in hope that this time it is going to be different when Tennessee hires the unproven coaches to run a multimillion dollar business. It is ridiculous. I believe and I argue that the football and basketball programs at Tennessee are not going to be very successful until we start hiring qualified coaches. Frankly I used to be the same way. Living in hope. Now I see that the successful programs hire top quality people and even at that they do not always work out. How much less the chance for a person with very little resume to turn these programs around. Tennessee will never be Alabama in football or Ky in basketball in my opinion and they could be if they would hire the right people.
