Yeah I know I think that way a lot. But the coaches have to just think about the game that day. No thinking ahead now got to win to move on. If we hadn't lost it would give you more room. Been down this road before you're best pitcher don't always have a good day.The thing is, our guys pitch counts have been relatively low. Im not really worried about how many options we have, I know we have to get there, but im trying to set us up for Saturday.
Peyton has been a great ambassador for the University of Tennessee. We just need to learn to win more when he is around.
Difficult in baseball because they seem to be the biggest believers in voodoo.
Speaking of which, I hope we don't start down path of wearing gray uniforms for remainder of tourney.
Vollie or Zander need to pitch in the open fly striped pants.
This is just a random thought ... but I miss the old aluminum bats whenever I'm watching the CWS now.
I remember the 80's when the CWS was played at Rosenblatt Stadium... and it was basically Homerun Derby. I specifically remember a game between Arizona State (had Oddibe McDowell and Barry Bonds) and Oklahoma State (with Pete Incaviglia and Robin Ventura) which finished with a score of something like 18-16 .... it was pure offense back then. The pitchers actually have a chance now ... which kinda sucks. LOL

1) Wake will be reeling from the loss and we have momentum. 2) You are right Wake is an unknown - so I prefer it to be a 1 game roll of the dice. 3) You are right again .... we DO know LSU ... so easier to deal with them in a two game set. We know exactly what we expect to get.
I think Wake is deeper in pitching and that means giving them and extra day of rest gives them an advantage ... LSU pitching is not as deep ... I think we have a better chance against their pitching staff.
Question: If LSU beats Wake with their B pitcher ... who is the stronger team???
I think only 12 teams have gone on to win the CWS after dropping their first game. 12!!! That means we are a definite dark horse. So, if I have to beat 1 team twice ... I think overall our odds of beating LSU are better than beating Wake Forest in a 2 game set.
Go Vols ... let's make it 13!!!!
Postgame remarks from both coaches and players today.
Wow: If you want to hear classy remarks by a losing coach, listen to the Stanford coach. Inspirational. I have a massive amount of respect for Stanford--no great academic school does it better. A class athletic department in every respect.

Yeah but if LSU loses tonight then my beloved Vols send LSU home tomorrow, the absolute melt from tiger fans would be glorious lol.It doesn't matter. At this point, it's a tall order. It can be done. But, a very tall order.
Beat LSU then beat Wake twice
or
Beat Wake and then beat LSU twice.
There's not a really good option there.
