Yes. We need to make the NCAA this year and win 20 plus. I have no doubt that will happen though. This is early season basketball. Games like this happen.

How "up" do you honestly think UT was for this game.

In March no one will care what the score was, just win and move on.

Blow out the Citadel and no one will remember this game.

Stokes 17pts & 18rbd guess he's a stud again after everyone wrote him off after the last game.


All seriousness, I've noticed going back to last year, if he stays out of foul trouble he's a stud. He gets those early fouls and he's done for the game.

Good showing for Stokes in front of the multiple NBA scouts in the crowd tonight.

It's amazing how many people don't understand that this isn't like football? Early season, especially, a lot of crazy sh*t can happen. Mid-major programs can actually be decent, believe it or not, it's a lot easier in basketball.

I guess I am just too tough on him. I thought he showed terrible skill tonight. IMO he isn't skilled enough to be the focus of our offense. He just needs to be a garbage man with his biggest value being as an offensive rebounder

The level of play from the first half to the second half changes dramatically for this team. I'm not an expert in the in's and out's of coaching but the Vols will lose many games if things don't change soon.

Offensively we were very much the same the entire game, however they scored 42 in the first half on over 60% from the field.

They scored 23 in the second half, and I don't have the percentage yet but I'm gonna guess around 38%.

We play the whole game with that awareness and intensity on defense and we win by 20, and are 2-0.

Second half we held them to 26.9% fg in the second half, that my friends was the difference.

No one will even remember the score of this game later in the season. Especially if we make the tourney.

One thing I've noticed is that we start out the first half really flat in shooting. Past two games first half shooting percentages have been AWFUL. I don't know what it is that causes it, but it has to be fixed soon.

Guess he's gonna have to grow a little mentally when he gets those fouls early and not let the frustration get to him.

Yea my biggest complaint as many have mentioned, substitutions. Did Q or AJ see minutes in the second half?

I would actually like to see a minute breakdown in the second half, we played our studs and it showed. In both games this year we've gone deep bench early and it's resulted in bad first half play, trim the rotation now IMO.

Cuonzo really needs to get a set rotation of who's going to play in what situations. A rhythm maybe. He kind of just picks someone and tells them to go in.

Hard to be pleased with this win other than avoiding a loss to an inferior team, watching upstate make ut look pedestrian for most of the game is not a good sign for this season.

Honestly Martin needs to take a difference approach too. When he picks up his first 2 minutes in pull him, sit him for 5 or so and then play him. Don't leave him out there to let him pick up his second 30 seconds later and be done for the half.
